American Bald Eagle "THANKS" cards *with measurements

Ahhhhhh..   working with one of my favorite stamps again..  the Bald Eagle Portrait stamp from StampersBest (use code: airbornewife on any orders to save 10%)

I am working on filling a flat rate box to send to Operation Write Home. They are all "Thank You" cards and I need to get this out in the mail pronto..   The bottom of the box is full..  but none of the cards are tucked in envelopes.. so by the time I do that, I do believe that it will fill up not only the bottom.. but the top as well and I can get it postal.

I made a card like this a while back that had a "Thank you for your service" stamp on it..  I just changed the sentiment strip to read "Thanks" and got busy making some more.  I could only make 6 since I could only find one sheet of the gold star paper that was in an Army paper pad.   It's late or I'd dig through papers to find some more, or something like it...   after tucking the cards in envelopes and if I still need more, I will find some then.

Here are all six of the cards I made:

**NOTE:  I have received some questions about the embossed layer that is on the card.   It's a 5 Bar  Card Panel.  I purchased boxes of these (in different sizes, ie: 4, 5 and 5.5 Bar) at XpedX when we were in El Paso, TX.   They are something that you probably could find at a local printer or paper supplier.  The 5 Bar  is my favorite because they measure 4" x 5 1/4" and make easy toppers for cards.

MEASUREMENTS:

card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
black layer:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
white layer:  5 1/4" x 4"

stamped Eagle layers:
white layer:  3 5/8" x 3 1/4"
black layer: 3 3/4" x 3 3/8"

sentiment:  (depends on size of sentiment)
white layer:  3/4"  x however long you need it
black layer:  7/8" x however long you need it

pattern paper layers:
pattern layer:  1 3/4" x 5 1/4"
black layer:   1 7/8" x 5 1/4"

SUPPLIES:
card stock:  black, white
pattern paper:  from an old Army paper pad
stamps:  MFT Sending Thanks, StampersBest Bald Eagle Portrait
ink:  Versafine black
accessories:  paper piercer and brads, punch to make banner ends

thanks for looking ~

have a great airborne day!
God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them

Pam, Really love this card. I like the elevated detail of the white panel which the brads were attached to. It adds richness! Did you dry emboss the whole piece of white, or did you use a light table after the pieces were adhered to elevate just that small portion?

I like this card. Thanks for sharing. Also thanks to you and your family for your service to our country. (Yes, families of troops are also serving.)

Pam thanks for sharing the info about the 5 bar card fronts. I will be checking these out where I get my paper. Your card is simple, yet elegant.

Pam,

This is a fabulous card! It's easy to see why it's featured on today's Stars and Stamps blog. Kudos on this recognition!

What a beautiful card - love that slight bit of embossing under the 3 brads - adds a really nice touch. How did you do that?
