Getting ready to put together 24 more Gus the Golfer cards

Last weekend while watching some Nascar racing.... I colored in a bunch more of the Gus the Golfer images. I have everything cut/layered, etc.. and am going to put these together.

UPDATE: I got through more than half of the cards when I ran out of the "golf balls" for the cards... I had to stop because I need to do some ebay and craigslist to sale some things that we don't want to take with us on our move here in a couple of weeks... wish me luck!!

StampersBest ~ Chevelle... I "heart" my DAD card

I started this card using the layout for this week's OWH Stars & Stamps Blog Sketch Challenge #122... the image I chose is one that I got last week from StampersBest. It is the Chevelle with Chrome Nameplate stamp (*I actually cut my stamp apart and didn't use the nameplate on the outside of the card. I am going to stamp it on the inside on the panel opposite the one where a greeting/note will be written). NOTE* use code: airbornewife at checkout to save 10% on your order.

After starting my card.. I realized that I wasn't going to be able to put the card together as the sketch was.. so I improvised and turned some things around.

Here is the OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch #122:

I stamped a bunch of the Chevelle image.. I'm going to color them in so I have them ready when I go to put some more cards together, they'll be ready to go.

used on this card:

card stock: black, white, Real Red
ink: black, asst. copic markers
stamps: StampersBest Chevelle and Chrome Nameplate stamp, Hero Arts: I "heart" my DAD
accessories: diamond embossing folder, paper piercer, black brads, punch for banner ends and Dimensionals!!!

Watercolor Effect with Direct to Stamp Inking

I received some emails and comments about how I did the image on one of the cards I made for this past weekends OWH~StampersBest BlogSkip and I said I would show how I did this.. but wanted to have all three of the images so I could show the progress from beginning to end.. however I couldn't find that middle image.. and after searching high and low.. I finally found it in a basket of scraps.

The image I used I actually got by accident.. really, by accident.

I had recently received a set of Distress Markers and was getting ready to go to bed one night and thought I'd mess around with them first. I grabbed the stamp I had been working with earlier in the night to stamp some other images that I colored in.. and thought I'd directly apply the ink to the stamp and see how it turned out.

The first stamping was really what I thought it would be.. liked it.. then I thought I'd spritz it with water.. course, all my mini misters are packed up somewhere so I grabbed an empty spray bottle and filled it with water.. spritzed it and stamped.. yikes.. too much.. then I stamped it again and left it and went on to bed.

The next morning when I got up and seen the sheet of watercolor paper laying on the washer where I had left it last night and was like "wow!".. I really like the way that turned out.

These were my images from that night:

Tonight as I started to put this together.. I couldn't remember if I had spritzed the stamp a second time or just stamped it after the second stamping.. so I did it all over from beginning to end.. and not only with Distress Markers but I also used some Stampin' UP! markers as well. You could do this with any waterbased markers. I have some Tombow markers but didn't have a dark navy blue so I passed on using them.

*NOTE: I only inked the stamp once. I then stamped it then I spritzed it with water then stamped and then stamped it again for the third time.

DISTRESS MARKERS:

STAMPIN' UP! MARKERS:

The more the papers dry.. the softer the image looks. I stamped all these images on some 90lb watercolor paper.

Give it a try.. I would love to see what you create.. add your blog here so I can check it out as well as others.

Happy Stamping!!!

... a sneak at a card I made for my Mom for Mother's Day

I told myself on Monday to get in gear to make a card.. forgot.. same on Tuesday and yesterday.. then today I am thinking it's Wednesday.. nope, it's Thursday.. come on Pam get it together. I pulled out some papers, already had the stamp set Verve's Because of You that I had purchased from a fellow SCS'er some time ago.. and got to making the card.

The card is a square card.. I like making square cards for special occasions.. you can put more on it!

I mailed it out today via Prioity Mail.. so let's hope that by now, it's already hit the airport and is on a plane heading to TN.

I'll post the full picture as soon as I know my mom has received it.. hope she likes it. Love ya' Momma!!!

Getting ready to make a bunch of "Gus the Golfer" cards

I colored in a whole bunch of Gus the golfer images the last few weeks while my arm was healing/recovering from surgery and the last two days I have been feeling well enough to make some cards. Tonight I cut a bunch of card bases, my husband punched and embossed the large golf balls for me.. and I printed out and cut all the sentiments.. I just need to layer them and the rest of the Gus images.. tomorrow I will put these together.

Here is one of the cards completed:
