A Thanksgiving card.. and what I've been up to: CROCHETING!!

What a busy month it has been..  I decided to make an crocheted afghan for someone special.. and after making it, I made two hats for my oldest daughter and youngest son on my knitting looms.. then an Infinity Scarf for my youngest daughter along with some boot cuffs for her (getting ready to make a set for her friend).. then a friend wanted an afghan just like the first one I made.. so I made another and just finished it up late last night and have another hat on the knitting loom that's red with a black strip around the middle.

Tonight I made this Thanksgiving card. I used a Deer image I stamped when my son was in the hospital.  I need to make some more, so hopefully I can be successful with that in the morning time.     Thanks for stopping by.

Infinity Scarf in Michigan State University colors ~ GO GREEN! GO SPARTANS!!
and on a side note..  this past week my daughter was accepted to Michigan State!!!  YEAH!!!

Miss Heather modeling her hat.. she picked our colors, which were no surprise ~ Waynesville Tigers Orange & Black.

This hat is my youngest sons hat.. he picked Orange and Black as well. He asked me if I could make an orange one with a black W for Waynesville.. I haven't ever done that but I do think I can.

These are the Boot Cuffs I made for my daughter.. first time ever making anything like that.. she wears them all the time.. same with her scarf.. I think she likes them!!

Here is a Breast Cancer Awareness scarf I made that I donated to a charity silent auction.

I am hoping to get a lot more crocheting done.. I went to Michael's this past week and took advantage of the Daily Deal on yarn and the sweet $10 off $40 purchase coupon they emailed me that morning.. I came home from Springfield with 85 skeins of yarn.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone..  please remember those service members that cannot spend this Thanksgiving with their families.. say a prayer for them to be safe and to return home soon. Godspeed

Forgotten Challenge "GRATEFUL" card

A FB group I am a part of is doing a "forgotten" challenge this week.. use things you have forgotten to use in a while.     I think everything on my card is something that has been kind of overlooked in being used.

2. Distress Ink ~ Tea Dye and a sponge
3. Small and Medium Oval Punches
4. Stamp set:  Lovely As a Tree
5. Stamp set:  Small Script

Christmas card/kit "SENDING YOU WARM WISHES" card *w/measurement

Listening to NASCAR today ~ **GO JIMMIE & TEAM LOWE'S** ~ and putting together another Christmas card kit.     I made a card somewhat like this about two years ago and I thought I'd make some more.   I didn't have enough of the pattern paper to do all 20 the same.. and then I had only enough of the Stampin' UP! DSP to do 13, so I dug through some pattern paper I have and found some more to do the other 13.  Everything is cut/stamped and put together in a ziploc bag.

Below is when I was working on the card sample..  the one at the top of the picture is one I made two years ago.  I had done the measurements on the paper below the card.. and realized I had a boo boo on it for the sentiment layer. I will retype everything below this pic for the finished card sample.

MEASUREMENTS:

Card Base:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

bottom layer:  4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

pattern paper layer:  3 3/4" x 5"

Square pattern paper layer:

Working on Christmas card kits

I wasn't feeling too good late last night.. tummy ache.. and was going to lay down in bed, but decided to cut some paper instead.  I had printed off the measurements for one of my favorite Christmas cards and make some kits to put together at another time.

This is what the card will look like when put together:

I was midway through cutting the paper when I realized I needed a border punch and all my punches were still packed up because I cannot store them as I have in the past.  I went looking for a particular punch and ended up unpacking one entire box and part of another before I found it.  I then did all the punching and moved onto the other layers.

I am sharing the measurements below that you can print off..  here is the link to the blog post that has the measurements on the page itself:  CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS CARD WITH MEASUREMENTS

"TIGER ~ TIGERS" cards for today

I found my TAC (The Angel Company) Tiger stamp a couple of nights ago and had it laying on my desk.  After finishing my card earlier for this week's MFTWSC, I decided to ink it up and make a couple of quick cards.   I used letters from the MFT License Plate stamps/dienamics set to spell out TIGERS and to die cut the plate.

WHS (Waynesville High School) PROPERTY OF TEAM AWESOME Tiger card

When I unpacked my stamp room a couple of weeks ago.. I made sure to put my Tiger stamps in a place that I would know where they were when I wanted them.  Tonight I decided to make a card using one of some awesome Tiger stamps that I have.

I had stamped the "Property of Team Awesome" and die cut it out, having some area at the top and bottom of the saying..  I then decided to stamp it again and this time put W H S on top of it and then die cut it out.  W H S is for Waynesville High School.. and we think our TIGERS!!!  are Team Awesome!!!

Supplies:

card stock: MFT Tangy Orange, White, Black, some random orange/black pattern paper
stamps:  Tiger (brand unknown), MFT Jersey stamp set
ink: Hero Arts black
accessories:  Scor-Pal, MFT Square Stax dies and dimensionals

"Creeping By To Say Hi!" Halloween Card using MFT Sun Ray Die-namics Die

I made some cards last night using my MFT Sun Ray Die-namics Die and when I shared the pic on a FB group I am in, someone mentioned using it for a Halloween card.   I had an idea for a card, but needed to find a certain stamp set.. so that idea is still floating around in my head.. but I wanted to make something quick to see how it would turn out.

I have lots of shimmery paper in all sorts of color.. except black, so I took some dark gold paper and ran a black ink pad over it..  it wasn't drying too fast, so I rubbed the card stock to get the excess off.. I die-cut my spider using an MFT spider die.. and when I added it to the card, I added googly eyes to it.

Supplies:

card stock:  Tango Tangerine, Black, Certainly Celery
pattern paper:  Halloween American Crafts paper
ink: Black
stamps:  SU Web Wishes
accessories:  Scor-Pal, MFT Sun Ray Die, MFT Spider Die, MFT Circle Stax, MFT Pinking Circle Stax, Embroidery Floss, Googly Eyes and Dimensionals
