"YOU TURN ME ON!" card using Lawn Fawn stamps & dies

Happy Thursday Everyone!  When this post goes live I should already be to our destination and getting settled in.     Today I have a Guest Designer post for Tupelo Designs LLC.. (using that link earns me points and you 10% off your first order)

I have a quick and super easy to make card.  This was so much fun to make.   I took a piece of plastic, rubbed a Mustard Seed Distress Ink Pad on it, spritzed it with water in my Ranger ~ Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer and smooshed it onto the watercolor paper. I would push it down while bending the plastic in half, then push it down in another spot. Super easy and the results are so neat.    I dabbed up any excess with a paper towel and set it aside to dry ~ you could heat set it with a heat gun, but mine is in storage so I had to let it dry naturally.

I stamped the "lightbulb" from the You Turn Me On stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink then colored it with some Copic Markers. The yellows I used are: Y06, Y18, Y35 for the metal part I used: N3, N4 and N5.  I then die-cut it out.   I stamped the sentiment  with Versafine Black ink on a white piece of card stock, trimmed it down, layered it on a black piece of card stock and put the card together.   The bulb is on foam tape.

I hope everyone has a super wonderful day!

Happy Thursday Everyone!   Today I have a Guest Designer post for Tupelo Designs LLC.  By the time this post goes live I will be on day 3 of a 4-5 day journey across the country.   I made this card for my son to send out as a "thank you" for a graduation gift received.   My son is just like me and loves all things "red, white and blue" so I knew just what to use on a Thank You card for him.   I used an awesome stamp set from WPlus9 called "Hand Lettered Thanks" ~ it has some amazing fonts and sentiments that go together.

MOJO447 "I LOVE YOU S'MORE!" card using Lawn Fawn stamps/dies *W/MEASUREMENTS

Happy Thursday Everyone!!  Sadly, this will be my last Guest Designer Post for Tupelo Designs LLC. (using that links earns me points and you 10% off your first order.)  I have had such a fun two months sharing cards using products from their site. I hope that I inspired you with the cards I have shared.  **UPDATE:  I am staying on the DT ~ but will be away from posting during the move ~ I do have some cards that I will schedule.  Thank you TDLLC for asking me to stay on!!

I will be moving in about two weeks.  It's a long journey across the country and my crafty stuff has to be packed up. As soon as I get there and get things unpacked, I will be back to posting and sharing card projects ~ and maybe even some scrapbook pages!!

The reason I haven't been so active online is this kid below..  he is my youngest son and he is a high school golfer. He has made it back to the MO State Championship another year in a row.  Several colleges want him to come play golf for them, but we've narrowed it down to one.   I have been so blessed to have been able to watch him play and hone his game into what it is today. During his Freshman and Sophomore year I went to all his matches/tournaments that I could. The last two years I haven't missed a swing of the club.  I will miss this time of year when he goes off to college and I won't be able to watch him each week.........  I better get to the card!!!

Now.. let's talk about this fun "I LOVE YOU S'MORE!" card ~ I just love the adorable Lawn Fawn images and their dies that cut like butter!  I also used some Lawn Fawn pattern papers.

When I started on my card I had cut everything and was laying it out to make sure it would all fit. I had stamped, colored and die-cut more pieces than I needed.  I've already put the extras in a small container I have of stuff that I'll use on cards when I get to our destination.

I took some pictures along the way of the coloring ~ I didn't take a picture of the bear because I wasn't a fan of my coloring on him ~ but I sure did like the way the flames came out!  I stamped all my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copic Markers.

For the biggest flame:  I started with the red at the bottom, then the orange, dark yellow and then the lightest yellow. Blending each color as I went up.

For the middle flame: I colored the darkest orange at the bottom, then the darkest yellow, middle yellow and then the lightest yellow. Blending each color as I went up.

For the smallest flame: I colored the darkest yellow at the bottom, then middle yellow and the lightest at the top. Blending each color as I went up.

For the moon: I colored the darkest yellow in the bottom third of the moon, then colored in the middle yellow and then the lightest yellow on the top.

I used this week's MOJO Monday Sketch:  MOJO447

Today is a special day for me. My youngest son turns 18 today.  Looking at the sentiments in this set are all ones that I could use on a card that I would gladly give to him..   he has my heart.. he is a star and I am so grateful to be his mom. .. sorry for being so mushy ~ he's my baby who has grown into such a fine young man.

Okay..  onto my cards.  I used a fun Mojo Monday Sketch  ~ Measurements are below on the scan.

On this first card I added some Lawn Fawn hearts

On this one I added some My Favorite Things Stars

and on this one some more of those fun Lawn Fawn hearts

Whenever I am putting a layer on a card and it will fit to the edge of the layers below it, I used my Scor-Buddy. I lay the bottom layer in the Scor-Buddy and then push the top layer against the edge and push down to adhere it.

TDLLC "HELLO" set of cards using MFT Diagonal Quilt Square

Happy Sunday Everyone!   I love using dies that all you have to do is pick some papers and get to cutting.   The die I am talking about in this post is the My Favorite Things Diagonal Quilt Square Die that I recently purchased from Tupelo Designs LLC. (use that link and I get points and you get 10% off your first order ~ Thanks!)

I die cut it four times in black because I wanted the piece around all the pieces to be black. I then cut it in red, blue, gray and a pattern paper piece.

After cutting all the pieces I take the frame piece and flip it over and put some Scor-Tape all over the back of it ~ then all you need to do is flip it over and decide which colors you want to put in what places.

Next I attached the Quilt Block on top of a blue piece of card stock. I put ribbon on two of them and flags on the other.  I attached them all onto black 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square cards. These will fit into regular A2 envelopes.  I have several of these dies and they are so much fun. The "Hello" sentiment is from the Sunny Studio Sunny Sentiments stamp set.

Isn't the stitching on each of the pieces such a great touch.

SUPPLIES:

card stock: Neenah, Black, blue, Red
pattern paper:  Patriotic papers
stamps:  Sunny Studio Sunny Sentiments "Hello"
ink: Versafine Black
accessories:  Scor-Buddy, Foam Tape, Scor-Tape, MFT Diagonal Quilt Block Die, Gingham Ribbon, MFT Blueprints Circle and Pinked Circle
