Mojo Monday #391 "YOU'RE A HOOT" card for a friend

A few weeks ago I was in desperate need of some new Scor-Tools for my Scor-Buddy, so I texted a dear friend of mine who owns a scrapbook store in Dover, TN and she mailed me some.  In the package along with the Scor-tools, was an adorable set of stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions called "Hoot Hoot Horray".. tooooo stinkin' cute!!   she also sent me a set by Lawn Fawn called "Scripty Sayings", I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

When I seen this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, I knew I wanted to use the Owl stamp set to make a card to send to my friend as a thank you.  What fun it was to make this to send to her.. on the inside I am going to write..   "that's why I love you!"   She really is a "hoot" and we laugh so much whenever I get to TN and go to her shop, which I could spent hours at.. just hanging out, laughing and cutting up.. and crafting sometimes as well.

Here's the sketch I used:  MOJO391

SSSC261 "I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU" cards

I had read about an "EYES" challenge in a FB group I am in.. and I finally got a chance to make a card using one of my new embossing folders.  The folder is one of two, the other has mustaches and I purchased them off of Amazon for $5.00 (for both) and $2.49 shipping. I really like the way it turned out.

I used a Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge layout for the card.   The card above I had to emboss part of the white piece and then emboss the lower portion since the folder is more sideways, then up and down.

This card below was embossed all in one pass through the machine.

Here is the sketch I used: SSSC261

*SUPPLIES:

card stock:  white, red, black
sentiment:  typed up in Word and printed off
accessories:  Scor-Pal, We R Memory Keepers Embossing Folder "Fellow" and Scor-Tape/Foam Tape

ATC~ Artist Trading Cards FB Swap "Spring" BLUE SKIES ARE AHEAD

I am in a stamping group on FB and we do monthly challenges/swaps/relays, etc..  this month we did an ATC (Artist Trading Card) swap.    The theme was "SPRING" and these are the ATC's that I made for the swap.

I used an assortment of dies, embossing folders, stamps, etc.. for these and had so much fun making them.

I die cut the clouds, sun and birds using some Lawn Fawn stamps and dies.  The Grass was cut using an Amuse die. The sky/background I embossed using a dotted embossing folder.

Here was when I was debating whether to put the sentiment on them or not. I decided to put one on each.
I made an extra one of the cards because I thought they were just too darn cute.

Here is all 7 of the cards I made.  I colored in the birds using a few Copic markers.

SSSC262 "BIG SMILE :)" Monster card

This card went together in a matter of minutes.  The Monster was already colored using some Stabilo Markers that I purchased from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and the yellow pattern layer was already attached to the black layer. I was going to use it on a card last night, but decided to go with a different color and a larger size card.  It was laying to my left and I grabbed it to use it.

I finally ..  finally!!!  haha.. used my MFT Stitchable Dot Circles that I purchased several months ago from a scrapbook store in Springfield.

Super easy sketch that would be a fun one to use to make LOTS of cards from a 6 x 6 paper pad.  Cutting the larger pattern layer at 4" x 5 1/4" and the strip at 2" x 5 1/4".  Each sheet in the paper pad would give you one card.   Use dies or Punches to make the circle layer and you could simply stamp a big sentiment onto the circle and waalaa.. your card is done!!

Here is the sketch I used:  SSSC262

*SUPPLIES:

card stock:  white, black
pattern paper: MME Collectable Remarkable
ink:  MFT Hybrid Black ink, Stabilo Markers
stamps:  Annabelle Stamps Lil' Monster Balloon
accessories:  Scor-Pal, MFT Stitchable Dot circles, MFT Circle Stax, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches, mini brads and Foam Tape

OWH Sketch #251 "TILDA ~ I LOVE YOU" card **PLUS A GIVEAWAY!!**

When I seen this week's Operation Write Home Sketch #251, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do.  I was gifted a bunch of Magnolia stamps last year by a dear friend and I hadn't inked up any of them, mostly because I don't think I color very well and the images are so adorable, that I didn't wanna mess them up.

I had some trouble with the inks I was using tonight.  The first time I stamped the image, I stamped it using a black hybrid ink from My Favorite Things, it smeared horribly. I tossed that image aside and used some Memento Black ink on this one. It smeared a little, but not as much. I used Neenah Solar White for the first image that got tossed and Copic Express-it paper for this image.

My husband said he thought she was adorable and reminded him of our youngest when she was little.

I used some Wink of Stella pens on the image and the flourish to make it shimmer.

**GIVEAWAY!!!**  I have two of these stamps and am going to give one away.  Please leave a comment on this post along with your email address spelled out.. with spaces .. ie:   giveaway AT gmail dot com

I will pick a winner on Thursday, April 2nd.  My son has a golf tournament/match that evening, when I return home, I will draw a winner.

Lot of 10 "BEST MOM EVER" cards

Last year I cut down almost all of the 12 x 12 paper that I owned, into 6 x 6 pieces and I store all that paper in three of the ArtBin Super Stachel storage boxes.   I went looking in one of them this morning for some colorful papers to make some "MOM" cards and found this yellow and red papers. I think that they are either October Afternoon or Cosmo Cricket.     The sentiment is one that I typed up and printed out.

Here is what the embossed heart circles look like:

Super easy cards.

*MEASUREMENTS:

card base:  8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

black layer:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
yellow layer:  5 1/4" x 4 "

square:
black layer:   3 1/8" x 3 1/8"

I embossed some white card stock with a hearts embossing folder, then punched out the circles and layered them onto a black circle.

DS193 Lot of "THANKS SO MUCH" cards

The last few days I have been busy getting cards ready for mailing to Operation Write Home.  I had some inserts to put in some cards, stamped the backs of cards and tucked them all in envelopes.  I filled three large flat boxes and have a fourth almost full. The box is nearly 90% full and all the cards are Thanks cards, so I wanted to make more to fill it up.  I seen the Deconstructed Sketch and thought I'd knock some out pretty quickly using the sketch.

I ended up with 10 of these cards.

While cleaning off a shelf where our printer sits, I went through some papers and found a couple sheets of these Mother digital stamps that I had printed off a very long time ago.   Today I decided to cut them up, layer them onto a black layer and onto some cards tonight.   Super easy cards to add to one of four large flat rate boxes full of cards headed to Operation Write Home soon.

I ended up with 16 cards in all.

Lot of "DEER" cards for a friend

While at a party last weekend, we got to see some friends we haven't seen in many years.  I found out that one of them really likes the cards I make and especially liked the deer cards.  He asked me if I could make some for an upcoming meeting with his Elks club and I said "of course I can".  I made 30 of them for him, I hope he likes them.

Hard to believe with all the thousands of pieces of pattern paper ~ I was hard pressed to find some that was "masculine" to use on these cards.

I used assorted papers from assorted manufacturers, the Buck Deer stamp is by Deep Red Stamps (I bought it off of Amazon), and I used assorted sentiments on the cards as well.

Viva la Verve Sketch March 2015 wk 2 "THANK YOU" Patriotic card

Ahhhh.. another fun Viva La Verve sketch.  I decided to make a Patriotic Thank You card.  The large doily die cut was cut from a piece of kraft card stock that was embossed with stars.

I punched the stars out of each color of card stock three times and glued them together to give them some bulk.  Using dies from My Favorite Things made this card super easy to make.
