I made this card last night.. the first time I cut pieces for the centerpiece, stamped and put together.. only to look at the measurements to see that I made it too big.. tossed that piece aside and started over. Now.. just now looking at the sketch layout below I notice that the stripes going across aren't supposed to go all the way across.. so much for getting it right.. haha.. I do like the way my card turned out and hope to make some more.
For this card I used: Serengeti stamp set (ret.) and the sentiment is from a Stampin' UP! set, can't remember the name.
Card stock: cream and slate from XpedX, black from Michael's.
ink: Memento black
Punches: Stampin' UP!
brads, hole punch, and of course.. DIMENSIONALS!!!!
Here is the sketch layout that I used for this card:
I made a second card.. not using the layout, but the same colors and a stamp from the same stamp set.
For this card I used: Serengeti stamp set (ret.) and Well Scripted (ret)
Card stock: cream and slate from XpedX, black from Michael's.
ink: Memento black
Punches: Stampin' UP!
ribbon, brads, hole punch, and of course.. DIMENSIONALS!!!!

I really like your cards - I am a huge fan of black and white - and I really like the gray - the stamps are very nice too - I haven't seen them before.
Great cards. Love your take on the sketch. I always forget that you do not have to follow the sketches exactly although I usual do. Love the colors you used!
Your sketch card is fabulous, and guess what? I didn't notice the strips didn't go all the way across either until you pointed it out! LOL
Ah well, they say a sketch is just a starting point, so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it :) I love the zebra card! It looks great in those colors and so does the 2nd card! NJ on both!
Hey, it's your interpretation of the sketch; and I love the way it came out!
Sketches are just a "jumping off" point, Pam, you can do what you want with them! I love your black/grey/cream color scheme. Thanks for joining us in this week's OWH Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge!
