We have been away for a little while visiting my husband's Grandma in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan "God's Country" and then visited at my parents house in Tennessee. The temperature change was so different in both states.. in the U.P. we nearly froze the first day or two and then were sweating it in TN.. same as in NC.. didn't miss the hot weather at all, but had a blast hanging out with my mom and my husband and son went fishing with my dad and caught a bunch.
For any of you who have never been to the U.P. of Michigan.. you do not know what you are missing.. it's BEAUTIFUL!!!
I made this card last night using a stamp that I bought in St. Ignace, MI of the Mackinac Bridge. I have a bunch of pictures that I had printed off of places we visited while there, many taken of the kids and wanted to send them to Grandma and wanted to include a thank you card as well.

Here is the details for the card... nothing fancy.. my mom brought out a bunch of packs of retired In Colors and I just chose some River Rock and Cranberry Crisp colors. Stamped the bridge in Cranberry Crisp, used some chalk to color some of the clouds and water.. last night as I went to bed, I thought to myself.. I shouldn't have colored the clouds, but rather the sky.. duh! I used a Cuttlebug folder for the River Rock layer, some brads, and 1/4" circle punch, Many Thanks is from one of the All Year Cheer sets, layered with oval punches and some paper piercing.
Now.. how about some pictures of some places we visited in the U.P..Chilly Day in Manistique, MI.. I didn't get the name of this lighthouse because we walked down a different pier going out to the water.. it was so nasty because the seagulls dropped their business all over the place.
