I got the email for the sketch challenge the other day and had set it aside.. when I went to make a card this morning, I went and grabbed it and used the layout from the sketch challenge for this card.

Everything on this card is Stampin' Up! except the Copic markers I used to color in the rose.

~*Happy Halloween*~ ... in July??? are you kidding?

Last night I was browsing some sites that were showing some new products and I seen on this one site some new Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punches.. there was a demo video that I watched and was wowed by seeing what they do. Today I went to Michael's to see if they had them.. and they did! I had printed out two 40% off coupons, but had planned on only using one of them.. when I got to the register the I told the lady that I needed to tear my coupon out.. she had some scissors so I cut it out and told her to use it on the most expensive one.. she said she'd do me one better... she pulled out a 50% off coupon and took it off, then took my 40% off.. so I got both punches with tax/discounts for only $16.88.. I was ecstatic to say the least.. I asked her if it would be too much to ask to do the same for the loopy punches.. she said to go right ahead.. so I grabbed them and checked out again.

I was so giddy with getting the punches.. I don't normally spend that much on myself, but really wanted to use the punches on cards to send to troops.. she knows that I make cards for troops to send home to their family and friends and what I do using coupons to buy things to give away to others.. I appreciated what she did for me making it so I could get the punches for an affordable price.. rather then four days and four shopping trips.

anyways.. I got the spider web punches and the loop ones..
I used the spider web punches on this card.

You're a HOOT! .... Wild Card Owl Card

airbornewife cricut wild card owl card rubber stamping hampton art you're a hoot
I so badly wanted to cut out the owl on the Wild Card cardtridge.. so I grabbed a piece of some double sided pattern paper and set about cutting it out. I had it set to 5 1/4" .. I then cut out the circles for the eyes, they are sponged, and put on using dimensionals. I stamped a You're a Hoot saying from a Hampton Art stamp set.. the hearts for the eyes and Happy Day inside.. I took a white gel pen and did dashes around the eyes and all around the outside of the card and one some of the lettering.

Stamping, Cricut Expressions and Coloring.. card

I cut out the lattice piece from the Cricut cartridge "Wild Card" and went from there to make my card. I stamped the flower from Fifth Avenue Floral three times, colored one flower on all of it, one on three petals and then just one petal. Cut them all out and layered them using dimensionals. I used the Sizzlits Little Leaves to cut out the leaves, the saying is from Fifth Ave. Floral. I stamped it and then punched it out using the large oval punch, it's layered on an oval and scallop oval cut/embossed using a nestabilities die. I used a script stamp from a SU retired set Botanicals on the background.

Another Alien card... what can I say!!

These things are just too cute!! I had a scrap piece of white cardstock that was laying on my desk and I was about to toss it out.. I thought to myself.. why not color it in.. so I grabbed some Copic markers and went about coloring in this adorable "thing!" I used the colorless blender to dot all over him to make him look scaley.. not sure if it shows up that well or not.

dustin pike dinosaur digi stamp image airbornewife dustin pike dinosaur digi stamp image airbornewife

I decided today to color in this adorable dinosaur image from Dustin Pike.

Using up some more scraps and trying to go through what's left of the Kiwi Kiss cardstock that I have.. I really like it, but figure once it's gone I'll get attached to another color and won't give it another thought.

~*Hoppy Easter*~ bunny card

Dustin Pike Easter Bunny Digi Stamps airbornewife Dustin Pike Easter Bunny Digi Stamps airbornewife

Tonight while searching way back through some of my old posts on SCS, back so far that I forgot what I was looking for in the first place.. I found one about the NC Gals.. that thread was closed and another one opened. The OP of the thread had/has a swap for cards using Dustin Pike digi stamp images. They are the cutest images and on some Wednesday's he posts a FREE image.. and since FREE is my most favorite word in the whole wide world.. ha ha! I went and downloaded every single one of the free ones.. it's now 3:20 am and I am still up. After downloading them all and printing off many.. I decided to color in one.. and for whatever reason is beyond me.. it was an Easter Bunny one. I think it's because I was tired, the pain medicine for my shoulder is working.. well, that's my excuse!

Anyways.. after coloring the bunny, I decided to make a card with it.. the card was put together with scraps I had on my desk and on the table behind me.. I was too tired to go get new papers, so I used up whatever was in reach. The Hoppy Easter and carrot is from a $1.00 stamp set from ACMoore.

Here is the website for the digi stamp images.. also.. he sells other images, for very affordable prices.. check it out: DUSTIN PIKE

**ALIEN---------------splat!!! card

Yesterday when I was in Michael's I noticed that they had expanded the clear stamp section.. however they had nothing hardly filled at all.. then today when me and Steve went to see about finding some of the clearanced Sizzix alphabets, I noticed they had filled about 95% of the sets.. I noticed some cute ones right away.. the Aliens and then some that are just splatters. I had two coupons, so I had Steve checkout using one for me. The sets were $4.00 and change each with coupon.

When we left the store, I was looking at the sets and turned the packaging on the one sideways and said "wouldn't this look neat as if it's coming from his mouth!" so that is what I did on this card. Everything is embossed using clear embossing powder and heat set.

2 Cards from this morning ~ ROSE and YOUR A HOOT!!

Last night I was messing around with a new Stampin' UP! Sizzix embossing folder I had recently got. I grabbed a scrap piece of white paper and ran it through the BigKick.. then this morning, I trimmed it down.. sponged some Piourette Pink (sp?) onto it and then layered it with a piece of DSP from the Bella Rose pack.. added some sheer pink ribbon, and some half pearls from the Pretties Kit and that was about it for the Rose card..

The "Your a Hoot" card was made using a Hampton Art stamp set that I had bought a while back at ACMoore.. I stamped the images and then colored them with Copic markers. . I see that my trimming on some of the layers aren't the straightest.. I had glued the paper together and then trimmed.. something I do not like doing, but live and learn.. I used a scrap piece of DSP from the Bella Rose pack again on this card and some scrap papers for layering. Behind the Word Window punch out with the saying on it, is the Designer Label Punch, cut down to size and layered under it.

Forgot some Upper Peninsula of Michigan Photos

OOPS.. I just realized I missed posting some pictures of these two places we visited.. two of the most beautiful places I have ever been.. it was a chilly 51 degrees when we got to Whitefish Point.

These are pictures of Whitefish Point on Lake Superior Michigan, 17 miles off shore in 1975 during a very bad storm, the Edmund Fitzgerald freighter sank with all her crew. Also are some
pictures of the Upper and Lower Tahquamenon Falls. The mailbox is a funny that we seen along the road from Paradise, MI on the way to Whitefish Point.. the freighters are ones on Lake Superior that we seen from shore.. in a distance you can see Canada. The rocks on the shoreline and on the beach are agates/Petosky stones.. the kids had fun picking some out to bring home.

Where have you been??? enjoying the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan

We have been away for a little while visiting my husband's Grandma in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan "God's Country" and then visited at my parents house in Tennessee. The temperature change was so different in both states.. in the U.P. we nearly froze the first day or two and then were sweating it in TN.. same as in NC.. didn't miss the hot weather at all, but had a blast hanging out with my mom and my husband and son went fishing with my dad and caught a bunch.

For any of you who have never been to the U.P. of Michigan.. you do not know what you are missing.. it's BEAUTIFUL!!!

I made this card last night using a stamp that I bought in St. Ignace, MI of the Mackinac Bridge. I have a bunch of pictures that I had printed off of places we visited while there, many taken of the kids and wanted to send them to Grandma and wanted to include a thank you card as well.

Here is the details for the card... nothing fancy.. my mom brought out a bunch of packs of retired In Colors and I just chose some River Rock and Cranberry Crisp colors. Stamped the bridge in Cranberry Crisp, used some chalk to color some of the clouds and water.. last night as I went to bed, I thought to myself.. I shouldn't have colored the clouds, but rather the sky.. duh! I used a Cuttlebug folder for the River Rock layer, some brads, and 1/4" circle punch, Many Thanks is from one of the All Year Cheer sets, layered with oval punches and some paper piercing.

Now.. how about some pictures of some places we visited in the U.P..

Chilly Day in Manistique, MI.. I didn't get the name of this lighthouse because we walked down a different pier going out to the water.. it was so nasty because the seagulls dropped their business all over the place.
