Day 9. of #thedailymarker30day
Coloring Challenge. Today I did some ink layering.
Happy Thursday Everyone! I have a Design Team card for
TupeloDesignsLLC for you. It's the kind of card that we card makers don't always like to make. I happened to need one and have been putting this off for a few days. You could easily change out the sentiment to be a Happy Birthday, Anniversary, Thinking of You, etc.

The card I made is going postal tomorrow to the family of a dear friend. She was someone I never met in person, but I know had we met we would be instant friends. She was one to always say the nicest things, the funniest things.. things that made you smile. I met her when I go started making cards for Operation Write Home. Her and I would chat often, a lot of times her asking me if I knew what some crafty thing was called or who made it, etc. I was sort of her enabler. haha. On Thursday morning she had messaged me asking about a stamped image. I was on my way to the airport to pick up my son and on the way there I searched to find a name/maker for that image. I searched later on that night as well and finally gave up.. messaging her around 11 pm that my searching resulted in a big fat ZERO! The next morning I read that she had fallen and had been taken to the hospital, then early Monday morning I read she had passed away. My heart ached for a friend I had never met. It makes me cry now to try and write this out. I will miss my friend, but I know she's in heaven getting others involved in some crafty things while not in anymore pain ~ and one day I'll get to meet her in person. Hugs Ronni until we meet in the big craft room in the sky.
=================================================================
On to my card... I stamped all the images from the
Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set using a stamping tool which makes it quite easy to line up and stamped. I layered several Altenew inks for the flowers and then some Hero Art and
Lawn Fawn inks for the leaves.
Here are all the images (less the purple flower, I actually inked and stamped it a couple of days ago). I had already cut out one of the leaves and stopped to take a pictue.
I don't own the dies to this set.. in fact I need to find out if they make dies for this set because I always have to cut it out.. haha. it doesn't take long to cut them out. Here are all the flowers and leaves I used for my card. I cut them out using some awesome
Cutter Bee Scissors.
I measured how wide the die-cut sentiment was and cut a piece of white card stock just a little bit wider.. I then cut a piece of black card stock to layer it on. I held them both together where they would be when I glue them together and cut up the center and then from the outer corners to the center.. that way they line up perfectly when you adhere them together.
I put double sided adhesive on the back of some black card stock. I put the die on the other side of it and run it through my die-cutting machine. After it's cut.. there's already adhesive on the back of the sentiment. It makes it so much easier to adhere to the card.
After putting
Multi Medium Matte or foam on the backs of each leaf, I would lay an acrylic block on top of it to keep it in place and let it dry.
I glued the leaves down first. I put foam under the parts of the leaves that hang off the top layer because it's on foam.
I love all the layers on this card and I know my friend would've loved it and said something sweet that always put a smile on my face.. I hope she can look down from above and see it.. and the lone purple flower just for her. I brushed
Wink of Stella Clear Glitter on the purple one.
On the inside I stamped some leaves and adhered the last flower ~ I also stamped a sentiment from the stamp set.
I used an Outlawz Sketch Challenge and flipped the sketch:

*MEASUREMENTS: I tried to scan it in, but couldn't get my scanner and laptop to talk to each other.. ever since being forced to use Windows 10 the two don't talk together very well!
