OWH #216 "HELLO SUNSHINE" card and Happy Birthday to Becki ~

Wow.. my week seemed to whiz by because of so much going on.  I had had a request to post a card on the 15th, specifically for a special someone whose birthday was that day.. Becki ~ Happy Birthday.. I am a day late.. sorry about that.  I thought today was the 15th, so late last night while laying in bed, I was looking at my phone and noticed it said that the date was the 15th.. yikes!    So here's a Birthday shout out ..  one day late!~!   hope you had a super great day!

My birthday was last week and my son gifted me an Amazon (I call it Amaze ~ on!)  and I purchased some new Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and sequins..  I also had a paper pad on my order, but it was refunded. I sent a message to the seller because when I looked at the item, it still showed on in stock and if I reordered I'd have to pay more for shipping costs.. today (3/17) I get a reply back and the lady said that they were going to send me the paper pad when they restocked.. wow!   I wasn't expecting that, but wow!!!   now that is what I call customer service.

and here's the card I made using some of my new goodies:

Here are the new goodies..  such fun!!

Some new paper pads I got recently **UPDATED

Oh my goodness...   I surely don't need not a single more paper pad, but I couldn't resist paying only $1.80 for each of the Christmas pads, $1.99 for each of the Sn@p pads, $1.59 for two of the Love Me pads and $1.92 for the other three.. I did spend a bit more for some of my all time favorite My Mind's Eye pads ~ Breeze, spending $29.00 for 5 brand new ones.. and that included shipping.    I can't wait to get busy making some more cards using those pads.

*UPDATE:  I was asked where I purchased these pads at.    The Breeze ones I bought from someone on eBay.  The Love Me pads were all purchased at Michael's.  I have found that they ring up at $2.99 (while most others are $5.99 ~ have a cashier price check them all and see which ones are on sale, these were the ones I was specifically looking for) and I used some 40% and 50% off coupons to score them so inexpensive.   The Sn@p pads were on clearance at Michael's and the Christmas pads were purchased at ACMoore.. they were marked down to $2.00 and our store gives a 10% military discount, bringing them down to $1.80 each.

Here are some links to some cards I made in the past and have wanted to make some more, but couldn't find the pads anywhere~ along with links to cards I made with other pads as well.

MFTWSC166 "MERRY CHRISTMAS" card

I have been challenging myself to make at least 5 Christmas cards a month..  so far so good!  I know I can make more than that, but with my son having one sport and into another, it's been a busy busy here and I haven't really devoted the time to making more than the 5 for the challenge.

I used this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge for this card.. I have already pulled out the papers to make 4 more, but I think on the others I will be eliminating the ribbon.. this stuff gave me such a hard time, I will figure something else do do, some more layers, brads, etc.. something!

SUPPLIES:

card stock:  Always Artichoke, American Crafts red, White
pattern paper:  MME Found Christmas

SSSC209 "BEAR HUGS" card

What a fun sketch this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #209 is.       I made my diagonal piece more in the center because I didn't have a long enough piece.       I really like that wood looking paper in the background.    The MFT Pure Innocence girl I had in my basket of colored images, so I picked her, trimmed her out and added her to my card.  I want to send this to someone who needs a big bear hug right now.  Please say a prayer for a sweet lady named Erika who is has been sent home on meds for her heart because there is nothing else they can do for her.   I have known this woman since I was a little girl and my parents bought a house across the street from her.  I am going to send a card to her each week to let her know I am thinking of her from afar.

here is the sketch I used:  SSSC209

MFTWSC165 take 2 "I LOVE BEING YOUR MOM" card

I liked this sketch so much.. I decided to make another card using it.  LINK to the card I made earlier today using the sketch...  totally different papers/stamps.     I had this image already colored and paper pieced from a long time ago.   I reached into my basket of colored MFT Pure Innocence images and seen this one, so many times I have passed up using it, but this sketch was perfect for it

When I was putting my card together I noticed a mark on the main layer and so I used a brad to cover it up.. I must've dropped something on it.. because I have no idea how it got there.  I did bring the dies with the flower pieces over to my desk when piercing them out, I did drop one, I guess the piece where the dies were attached together hit at just the right spot ... it was an easy fix with the brads.

Here is the sketch I used:  MFTWSC165

SUPPLIES:

card stock:  Neenah Canyon Brown, White
pattern paper:  MME Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks
ink:  Memento Black, Asst. Copics, Versafine Black
stamps:  MFT Pure Innocence Cute-a-tude
