OWH Sketch Challenge #132 ... ~ Big Hugs ~ ...

This morning I thought I'd make another card using this week's sketch layout from the OWH Stars & Stamps Blog. I had stamped the image last night, actually stamped a whole sheet of them and sat down to watch the Olympics and color.. but I ended up watching Olympics and not coloring anything.. haha.. this morning I colored the image and set out to make the card. I had my pieces cut to fit the sketch as it is below.. but the sentiment didn't fit so I had to turn it and my "paper dolls" piece wasn't long enough for the whole card.. but it works and I really like how it turned out.. I hope whoever receives it likes it as well.

Last night while watching the Olympics.. I was going through some magazines and tabbing pages with post it notes where there were cards that I liked the layout/sketch used on them. In between some of these magazines were some printed off pages of sketches and I seen the one I used (pictured below).. I started on the card last night and then worked on it a little this morning before church and then afterwards I finished it up. I used my favorite brown paper.. ahhhhh, it's gorgeous!!!

Bright & Colorful fun cards

While digging in my box of papers last night I seen this fun "Free Spirit" pattern paper that I had got while in El Paso.. I got a whole bunch of it at Paper Pizazz during a box sale. I found a sketch on the OWH site.. I think it's a bonus sketch, actually I think I used bonus sketches for both sets of cards. I was on my Kindle last night and had opened up the PDF of the sketches and went from there.


I went and got the link to the sketches. On the page that opens it shows a bunch of sketches.. I clicked on the link for the 32 Bonus sketches. I remember now that I was using one of the sketches for one group of cards and then I turned it and I made the second set.. so it was one sketch that I used for these cards. OWH SKETCHES ~ AND BONUS SKETCHES.

I Love You So Much... OWH Challenge: Flower card

There is the neatest tutorial on the OWH Stars & Stamps blog this past week.. Paper Pansies, made using punches. At the end of the post it asked to see your cards made using the tutorial or flower cards.. This morning when I reached into a box of pattern paper I pulled out a brand new pack of paper that I bought at Tuesday Morning who knows when. I seen the strip of flowers and went to work from there.

I used my favorite.. favorite brown paper in the whole wide world for the base and the strip where I punched the scallop border from. If I could, I would probably make cards using only that brown.. haha.. not too many ways to make Patriotic cards using brown.. but I bet I'd figure out a way,haha.

I like the way it turned out and might, just might make some more. I used the Bow Easy for the bow and before pulling the ribbon taunt, I put a long piece in the back loop so that I would have a piece to attach to my card across the middle.

A birthday card for a little boy whose turning "1" this month

I started on this card late last night and finished it up this morning so I could put it in the mail along with a "thank you" card ~ which I forgot to take a picture of.. today.

I met this little boy named Samuel a couple of weeks ago and he's just as cute as can be. I couldn't resist making him a birthday card to celebrate his first birthday that is later this month.


I used a new CB embossing folder for the front. I punched out colorful circles that were large polka dots on some pattern paper, to use for the balls. This is a big card that is 5 x 7. I mailed both cards out in a padded envelope so I wasn't concerned with the size.

last night I made six more cards... all the same

After I finished my card two nights ago, I went right back downstairs and cut out everything to make six more.. I finished them all up last night. Now I have seven to put in my box for OWH.

OWH Sketch Challenge #131 ~ We don't know how strong we are....

Hello everybody... I have been working on my stamp room all day.. and yesterday. Thanks to my mom who helped me unpack a ton of boxes the last night she was here. We unpacked all the stamps, inks, reams of paper, all the embossing stuff.. and so much more.

I got some new stamp stuff while we were on leave in TN at a really awesome stamp store in Dover called Precious Scraps. The lady who owns/runs it is such a sweetheart.

I have been itching to make something and really needed to clear some room to make some thank you cards and a birthday card for a little boy who is turning 1 year old in a few weeks.

Some pictures of the "hot mess" of a stamp room I've been messing with.. a word I have said more times in the last few days then in my entire life... RIDICULOUS!!!
I am shocked at how much stuff I have.. and there are so many boxes yet to be opened, ones opened with no where to put.. the kitchen at the time these were taken had a bunch of boxes sitting in it and some in the living room waiting to be taken upstairs. oh goodness.. I need to get busy making thousands upon thousands of cards so I can use up some of this stuff.

I already had the shelf on the left that I had bought from someone off of Craigslist while we were in El Paso for $75. I got the one of the right from someone here out in Eastover for $75 as well. that thing was sooooo hard to get in the house, but we all worked together and got it in. The shelves are from Ikea and are called Expedit shelves.

This was earlier today. I had cleared out all the boxes that were stacked up all along the left wall, and brought in a folding table that was in the garage, then set that cubby shelf on it so that I can put all my embossing folders, dies, spellbinders, etc. on it.

This was taken while I was in the middle of unpacking three boxes full of punches. They are hanging in shoe holders that are hanging on the doors.. the doors open into the room and are off to the left and right.

This was the top of the desk earlier today... I was ready to pull my hair out.. but took my time and got things put away and where they needed to go.
My desktop all straightened up.. the lamp is one of two new OttLites that I got at an awesome price at Tuesday Morning during one of their additional 50% off clearance sales.. they are all over the web right now for $80-90+.. I got each for $22.49. I need to put the other together and set it up to the left.
Hope everyone is having a great summer... it's been so hot here in N.C... but I think that all the rains that we have had has drove down the temps and all this week they said it would be in the low 90's.. I'd like 70's better.. but I'll take what I can because I was ever so sick of the 100 temp days.
