Random cards I made this past week.. Gus the Golfer is back!!!

These are just some random cards I've made this past week...  they missed going in the two large flat rate boxes packed full of cards that went to Afghanistan..  they'll be in the next box.

while digging through a box, I found these Gus the Golfer's already colored, cut/mounted to the black panel.. same with the sentiment and the circles were already punched out and embossed... that was done in April of last year.. my husband did them for me because I had just had Ulnar Nerve Entrapment surgery and couldn't crank the BigShot or man handle the big punch.

OWH Sketch Challenge #169 "Just Saying Hello"

When I seen this week's OWH Sketch Challenge it put a big smile on my face... look at all the layers.. yeah buddy!!! love it.

I used up strips on scraps for my circle..  it actually started out as a rectangle.. I had enough scraps to cover three of them.. then I die-cut it out using a circle MFT die.  I used the other panels on some other cards,, will post them next.

YOU'RE ON MY MIND.. lot of 10 cards

I printed off a bunch of sketches from SCS a few days ago.. and last this afternoon I was flipping through some and see the one that I used on this bunch of cards I made.  They are super easy to make.. and go together really quick.  I made 10 of these.

Measurements:

card base:  5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half
pattern layer:  5 1/4" x 4"
sentiment:  7/8" wide.. length .. probably a few inches.. I tried to stay near the end I punched to make the banner end.. and then clipped it off where it was under the stamped panel.  hope that makes sense.
stamped panel:  2" x 3"
layer for stamped panel:  2 1/8" x 3 1/8"

Supplies:

card stock:  brown, white
pattern paper: My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 6x6 paper pad
ink: Memento brown
stamps:  Stampin' UP! Serene Silhouettes, Upsy Daisy sentiment
accessories:  photo corner bracket punch, and dimensionals

here is the sketch from the SCS site:

here's one of the other pattern papers used on the cards.

The earth has yielded its fruits; and God has blessed us. --Psalms 67:6

I made this card tonight and when I started to make it, I was using a sketch from SCS.. but I didn't like the tilted panels.. so I opted to make them sort of off-set from each other and added some brads.

For this card I used:

stamps:  Stampin' UP! Harvest Blessings
ink: Memento Brown
card stock:  Brown, Stampin' UP! Sage Shadow, DSP Outlaw
accessories:  Stampin' UP! Hexagon embossing folder, brads, paper piercer and dimensionals

A bunch of random cards I have made this past week... including OWH Sketch Challenge cards

I got this Stampin' UP! order in on Friday.. and got busy making stuff.   The 7 containers contain some "big" brads" that were on the Clearance Rack..  I have already used some on some cards below.  There are a few things that I "forgot" to order..  and am now kicking myself because the free shipping special is over.

I made this card while messing around to see what "hexagon" dies/punches that I had, would it in the Stampin' UP! Hexagon embossing folder..  I found that one of my MFT dies works good. I have the Creative Memories Hexagon dies.. but haven't tried them yet.    This card went in the mail the morning after making it.

I made a bunch of these cards..  super quick..  love that new flower punch and coordinating stamp set called Mixed Bunch.

This is the card that is behind the other card in the picture above.

This card uses Blooming With Happiness set...  this flower is oh so pretty..  I just had to have it and am not sure why I kept forgetting to order it on previous orders.

This card uses the Serene Silhouettes..  love this set.  I used markers to coloring in the stamp in red and black ink.. huffed on it and then stamped it.   The red paper is shimmery paper.. oh so pretty.

I actually made this one a couple of weeks ago.. I used a Stampin' UP! embossing folder on this one and a retired Stampin' UP! stamp set.

Super easy card..  I used a plastic canvas circle to use as the template to do the piercing.

I did some Triple-Time Stamping using the Blooming With Happiness set.. that flower is gorgeous and the reason I bought the set.

OWH Sketch Challenge #167...   I made more of these than what is in the photograph..  they went together really quickly.

OWH Sketch Challenge #168..  I made three of these.. the first one had an orange layer on top of the white background.. I didn't really like that.. so I didn't add it on the others that I made.

108 cards from 1-Stampin' UP! 12 x 12 DSP package.. Happy Birthday To You! cards

108 cards.... wowzers!!  this has been a four day project..  all I had to do tonight was to finish up 5 sets of the cards that are to the right/middle and front row.

I made 12 sets from each of the pattern designs.. then with the leftovers.. I made 6 cards for each of the pattern designs.

Here are the details:

I used Stampin' UP! The Open Sea stamp set and Natutical Expedition DSP, you could use really any set/paper that you have.

Measurements for cards on back row and left/middle and front:

card base:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
solid layer: 4 x 5 1/4"
pattern layer:  3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

NOTE:  Someone asked about the DSP cuts..  I cut the 5 1/8" x 12" piece.. then another of them.. that left me a 1 3/4" x 12" piece left.. that I used on the other cards.. then I cut the 5 1/8" x 12" pieces into 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" pieces.  You will get 6 useable toppers of the pattern paper from each 12" x 12" sheet.

stamped main layer:
white: 3 1/4" x 4
solid: 3 3/8" x 4 1/8"

sentiment:
white: 1" x 3 1/2"
solid: 1 1/8" x 3 5/8

Measurements for cards that are right/middle and front row:

card base:  4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
strip pattern:  1 3/4" x 4"
strip solid:  1 7/8" x 4 1/8"

sentiment:
white: 1" x 3 1/2"
solid: 1 1/8" x 3 5/8"

The ships are stamped and punched out using punches, then layered onto another punched out circle.

Just for You ... lot of butterfly cards

My kids and I went to Cary yesterday and I scored big time for some shimmery card stock that is nice and sturdy for card bases..  oh my goodness... it's so awesome and beautiful.. ohhhhh.. so beautiful.

I decided to use some of the shimmery grey/silver to make these cards.    These are not A2 sized cards.  I don't know if they fit into a "size" chart.. but I know that they fit in some envelopes that I bought last year in Myrtle Beach at a Goodwill store.. super nice bright white envelopes.. but not regular size.

To use these bases.. I needed to only trim 2" off the one end, score at 4" and fold in half.

the size of these cards is:  4" x 5 3/4"

Since these are not normal sized cards.. so my measurements
won't work if you are making A2 sized cards.

If you just make a base layer.. and then a layer on top of that..

the pattern pieces are leftover from the Missing You cards I made a few days ago.. I cut them at 2" by 5 1/8".. then put them on a layer of black.

The flourish/butterfly piece is 2 7/8" x 2" and the
black layer for it is: 3" x 2 1/8"

I stamped the circle of butterflies and punched it out with a circle punch.. and layered that onto another circle.

I've Been Missing You... cards

I bought the MFT stamp set "Just My Type" and matching die, from a lady on SCS.. the very afternoon I received it in the mail I die-cut 32 typewriters and letter pieces.. I then stamped all the typewriters and then the "I've Been Missing You" sentiment onto the letter pieces.

I used pattern papers from an Echo Park called Yours Truly.   I used
up the whole pad.. and then cut into a pad by Carta Bella called Paris Girl.

Measurements:

White card base:   5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded in half

black layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
pattern piece: 3 7/8" x 5 3/8"

I run a strip of adhesive on the back side of the typewriter near the top.. and attached the letter piece.. the whole piece is on dimensionals.. I tied ribbon around the card.  This is the only one I used vanilla ribbon on because I didn't realize I had white.. I made 32 of these after this one and used white ribbon on some cards and red taffeta ribbon on others.

My Thoughts are happiest when YOU'RE in them. cards

I finally put some ink on this gorgeous Stampin' UP! stamp set called Field Flowers.

I bought it a while back.. yet never even opened the case.. until a few days ago.

I made a bunch of these.. these below are three different ones I made.. the one on the right was the first one I made.. the one in the middle I made because I only had a little bit of Midnight Muse card stock left.. and the ones on the left I made a bunch of.

The measurements for the ones on the left and right are the same.. they are:

Not Quite Navy card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
white layer:  5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Old Olive layer: 5 1/4" x 4"

Not Quite Navy layer: 3" x 4 5/8"
white layer: 2 7/8" x 4 1/2"

*NOTE: when I did the very first card, I had stamped/embossed, then attached to the Not Quite Navy panel.. then on the bunches I made.. it was an afterthought.. I had stamped/adhered to the Not Quite Navy.. then embossed it.

I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock and then punched it out using a Stampin' UP! punch.

the card in the middle:

white layer: 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"

Not Quite Navy layer:  2 5/8" x 5 1/4"
Old Olive:  2 1/2" x 5 1/8"

flower layer:
Old Olive:  4 1/2" x 3"
Not Quite Navy: 4 3/8" x 2 7/8"
White Layer:  4 1/4" x 2 3/4"

Inks:

Stems: Old Olive
Flowers: Bordering Blue and Midnight Muse

The Essence of Love and Happy Birthday to YOU cards **added pics

I was still working on finishing up the My Mind's Eye 6x6 paper pad "Breeze" after making all the cards last week..  these were made since then..  and while uploading these images.. I realize I forgot some cards. I used some strips to make some panels for fronts of cards.. there was only two or three.. I must've not seen them when I was grabbing cards out of the tub they are in, when I took the pictures... **they are added below

This card uses a 1 3/4" strip.. that I used a punch at the one end to make a banner.. the sentiment piece is 3/4" tall and I am not sure the width.. but you would only need to make it big enough to fit your sentiment and then go up 1/8" on both sides to make a layer.. the butterfly is die-cut and adhered to a vellum circle.

**I found the link to the card I C.A.S.E.d for my card..  LINK

This card is the one of two that I made like this.. I used the leftover strips to make this.. a punch to punch out the ends to make like banners.. I stamped the sentiment onto a circle and punched it out.. then layered it on top of a circle of the same size.. I don't have one that is a tad bigger and I didn't feel like dragging out dies to cut two circles.. so I went with this method.

This is an odd sized card.. but top panel is 4" x something..  you can cut it to fit a regular A2 size card.. the panel is 1" by the length needed for a sentiment.. and the layer is 1 1/8".

this card uses a 1 3/4" strip that I used a punch to make the banner with. The sentiment strip is about 3/4" wide.. and wide enough to fit the sentiment.  I punched out a butterfly using an EK Success punch and then embossed it.. it's layered on top of a vellum cirlce that was punched out.  **NOTE:  adhere the butterfly to your circle.. then flip it over and put adhesive on the back of the circle under where the butterfly is adhered.. then I put a strip on the bottom of the circle where the sentiment would cover it up and none shown through.. the sentiment is on Dimensionals.

these are the cards I made using "strips" that were left from using up nearly the entire paper pad.. super easy cards.
