I'm here... been recovering and taking it easy.

Hi everybody... I have been taking it easy since my surgery. Many days I was resting thanks to some meds that they gave me that made me so sleepy, didn't do much for releiving the pain, but made me sure sleep good. I didn't think that it was going to be too bad, but the location of the incisions were under my left rib and on my left hip. The one on my hip is still very bruised and sore, location is not the best and sometimes is a strain when I move. There was a lot of scar tissue removed, they showed me some color photos, quite interesting to see inside your body.

I haven't spent hardly any time on the computer and have many emails to catch up on. I got a phone call today from Carole in Missouri, checking in on me ~ Hi Carole! ~ and thought I better get my behind up and make a post to say Hello and that I am here, just resting.

I have a follow-up appointment with the doctor on Wednesday so hopefully all the news will be well. Thank you so all that have emailed me.. made my day!

Been visiting with my Mom... having surgery

Tomorrow I am going in for a surgical procedure.. a scouting mission if you will, and my Mom came down to visit for a while. She got here on Tuesday and we been getting in all the running around for the last two days that we could handle. I am hoping to be up and about without incident, but the doctor did say I would be sore for a few days and so I am hoping to get some stamping in with my mom. .with some of the new stuff we got the the last two days... hopefully climbing the stairs won't be an issue.

Hope everybody has a great weekend ahead.

Just Buzzin' By to say.....

The stamps used on this card is a new set from Stampin' Up! that will be in the new catalog in a week ~ isn't it adorable. Just Buzzin' By is the name. It's way past my bedtime, but I had started on the card, and then couldn't decide on what I wanted to do after I cut out everything and figured I better get it done tonight or it might still be sitting here days from now.

To Someone with a Big Heart Valentine's Day Card

I was messing around today using one of the Sizzix Texture Plates that I bought a very long time ago and used it on the close to cocoa piece on this card.. along with a cuttlebug heart folder that I had cut out with the sizzix large scallop circle. I have a bunch of images that are already colored in and want to use them up quickly so that I can get these cards in the mail by Monday to Iraq.. so hopefully a stamping fool I will be this weekend.

Easy Valentine's Day Card made during phone call...

My dad called me today to chit chat ~ I love when he does that. I had stamped some

images from a retired SU set that I got a while back from someone as a bonus, when I bought a bunch of other stuff. I had colored in the words with some sharpies and was ready to put them on a card, but then got wrapped up in my phone call with my dad and ended up using something else.

All the cardstock is from scraps that were laying on my desk, except for the larger pieces which I found in a box yesterday and just grabbed it to use it. I really wanted a big heart behind everything.. one that was scalloped and made of vellum, but I was on the phone and didn't want to start dragging out paper and the Cricut Expressions and all.. so I just settled for this. I am going to get out the machine sometime and cut some scallop hearts for some cards.. thanks for looking ~

More Valentine's Day Cards for Troops

During our trip to TN for Christmas, I didn't feel very good most of the time I was there, because of a nasty cold. I had stamped and colored in many images and thought I would mount them to have ready to make into cards, so last night I cut them all out and layered them on some cardstock. These are two cards that I made with what I had in my tote that was sitting downstairs. I wanted some punches, but didn't want to go upstairs to get them.. so I opted to use what I had. The images are from some retired Stampin' UP! stamp sets ~ the images are some of my favorites to use for Valentine's Day cards.. these will be on their way very soon to Iraq for deployed troops to send home to their loved ones.
