Hello and welcome to the Operation Write Home Birthday Bash 2013 with Unity Stamps BlogSkip!
This week Operation Write Home is celebrating a new sponsor with Unity Stamps:
Unity Stamp Company is proud to be partnering with Operation Write Home! We know that the shipping costs for the organization grow drastically with the holiday boxes being sent to deployed heroes, and we want to help! So we’re going to be donating 10% of proceeds from sales for the rest of this week to OWH as our contribution to the cause….be sure to come visit our site and shop! -Angela, Unity Stamps
How awesome is that??
If you arrived here from Marlene's blog.. you are at the right place.. but if you'd like to start the skip from the beginning .. be sure to click HERE to start at the top of the blogroll on the OWH Stars & Stamps blog.
The cards I have for you today use some Unity stamps that are perfect for Military Spouses to use on cards and notes to send to their deployed spouses.
Let's get to the cards....
Card #1:
I really liked the way this card turned out.. I had originally planned on using white where all the Kraft is, but am glad that I went ahead with the Kraft instead.
This sentimen "Live Like He Deploys Tomororw".. is one that has so much meaning.. the days before my husband left were so busy.. we were trying to do so much to fit in doing those last minute things and making sure we had things taken care of that needed to be taken care of.
The time goes by so quickly.. before you know it, the day arrived for him to depart. We have been marking days and months off the calendar and our redeployment is approaching and we will be busy getting ready for his arrival. This hasn't been an easy deployment, so we are so glad for it to be over with.
Card #2
"Half of my heart is DEPLOYED".. yep.. ain't that the truth.. when your loved one is deployed, it's like a part of you is missing.. and when they return.. that part will fit nicely in place and you will feel whole again.
I used this week's OWH Sketch Challenge Layout for this card.
I really like this sentiment "LIVE EACH DAY" .. it's perfect for long banners on a card such as this.
This is a card I am going to send to my husband who will be coming home soon.
This card is a 5 1/4" square card. I like to make larger size cards for my hubby to put in packages I send to him.. that way there's more room to write a note inside.
On the inside I am going to put a note with something like... "and as if he will be coming home soon".
On a personal note.. I just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU!" to all the OWH'ers that make and send cards in for our deployed military members to send home to their families. As a military spouse, I know how important it is to receive a card from your loved one when they are downrange. Thank you again.
Thanks so much for stopping by.. the next stop on the skip is Julie.. go check out what fun cards she has to share with you.

MORE great unity sentiments. I really had no idea and am grateful for this skip. Love what you've done with the cards too. Very classy.
ReplyDeletePam, I want to thank YOU for providing inspiration to us as your family serves our country. I can not imagine being in your shoes. I wish you happiness.
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards, Pam! I agree about the kraft on the first one - it's the perfect choice. Thanks so much for sharing what it's like to be a military spouse! Thank your husband for his service and thank you and your family for your sacrifices too! Hope he comes home super quick!
ReplyDeletePam your cards are so pretty. I love how you did the hearts on them. The sentiments are super awesome. I feel for you when your husband deploys. God Bless!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are always SO perfect in their detail, Pam!! Love these...and I love that Unity makes sentiments that are great for military spouses to use on cards :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I love the craft with the red and blue and the layouts! I love reading your blog, such great cards and tips with each post!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so wonderful - love the color choices and all the layering. And the details are perfect - the buttons in an arc on the third one is just the right touch!
ReplyDeleteI love the cards and the sentiment, while I am blessed to have my husband with me, I know many who wait for his return with prayer in their hearts. God bless all our hero's and their loved ones. Thank YOU and your husband for your service to our nation.
ReplyDeleteSo, um, I read about your last card and how you plan on using it and now those darn Ninja Onion cutters must be hiding somewhere in my office - my eyes are all leaky. Thank you for great examples and thank your hubby for his service
ReplyDeletePam, your cards are beautiful and your comments really hit home. I suspect that for many, myself included, it's almost impossible to really understand what it's like to have a loved one deployed and your thoughts underscore that even a simple card can make a big difference during long separations. Thanks to your family for their service.
ReplyDeleteI like your choice of hearts on your cards, they fit perfectly with the sentiments. Pam, thanks for being a supportive wife to one of our nation's finest. Your cards brought a tear to my eyes. TFS
ReplyDeleteNot sure what it is...but as soon as I landed here I loved that first card. I think it may be the colors.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards. I like this heart stamp and your choice of papers.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where to start....your cards are all wonderful & the sentiments literally gave me goosebumps. The papers you used are awesome and your family's sacrifice & service is beyond mere words. Thank you from a very grateful American.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are beautiful and love the sentiments. The words just bring tears to my eyes. BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL job!!
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! Your cards are gorgeous and are just perfect guy love cards. Great choices on the papers and the banners and circles work excellently with the Unity heart. Thanks for your family's service - I hope your husband comes home really soon!
ReplyDeleteLove your cards. The sentiments are perfect and I love your paper choice!
ReplyDeletePam, I found myself breathless! Not only because I knew these cards and sentiments were so meaningful for you - but because they were so pretty! Then I read your post, and I remembered you telling me your husband was deploying soon - or reading it on OWH.. You know 1st hand the difficulty of the spouse that remains at home. I hope this deployment ends soon, but that you keep making gorgeous cards while he is home!
ReplyDeleteCan't decide which card I like best because the sentiments are so wonderful and touching. I think your decision to use the kraft paper instead of white really works and makes them more masculine.
ReplyDeleteNice cards and I like that sentiment also.... Is that paper piercing on one of the circles on the first card? I do like the layering on that one! Radloff jen at cableone dot net
ReplyDeletePam, I think the Kraft with the red, white & blue papers was a great choice. All three are great cards but the first one is my fav. The Unity sentiments are really great and so appropriate.
ReplyDeleteAlways love your cards. These are beautiful with the patriotic papers. Sure like that heart too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I love the papers and the clean lines, wonderful sentiments!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are SO nice!! And they all have sayings on them that mean SO much!!
ReplyDeleteGreat papers, great layout, great stamping and most of all, great sentiments!
ReplyDeletePam, it's always such a treat to see your cards; you've given me so much inspiration since my first week in OWH! As wonderful as your cards are, I especially want to thank your husband and your family for your service & sacrifice! I hope he's safely home and back on the golf course with your sons soon! Xoxo
ReplyDeleteRed, white, and blue are looking great on your cards (pretend the kraft is the white).
ReplyDeleteThe sentiments are tugging at my heart-thank you for showing cards for military spouses. People often don't realize it's like half of you is missing for the entire deployment...but it's always nice to hear how appreciated their service is.
Thank you for sharing your cards.
Lyn
I love all three of them. The craft paper gives them a cherished vintage look.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards--the brads are perfect in the first card! Love, love, love that you used kraft-- I need to keep this card in mind and not shy away from it!!
ReplyDeleteReally pretty cards. I like the muted colors and the sentiments.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you, your husband, and your family for your service to our country.
ReplyDeleteI love that you went red, blue, and kraft -- a perfect choice with that yummy paper. (I smile every time I pull my pad out to make an Any Hero card.)
I also love your embellishments -- from the 3 brads on the first to the 3 buttons on the last. Great job!
These are all just lovely cards, Pam! That is one of my favorite patriotic paper collections. I really like the third card with the triple buttons along the top of the circle and the repetition with triple layers on your card and banners. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteAn inspiring post on so many levels. I'm so glad your hubby will be home soon. Thank you for sharing your cards. I always enjoyed seeing your cards when I was a shipper. Many thanks to you and your family for your service and sacrifice!
ReplyDeleteI agree with madamewong my throat is tight and eyes are leaking as well. Thank you for sharing not just the beautiful cards, I love the kraft, but also reminding us in such a touching way why we do what we do. Praying for you and your hubby.
ReplyDeleteYour cards are so gorgeous and fantastic. I love the sentiments you chose as they work so well for letting those serving know how much they are loved. Also thanks to you for sacrificing so that your loved one can serve our country. God bless all of your family!
ReplyDeletePam, your cards and words brought tears to my eyes. No telling what this comment will say. My glasses are fogging up. The sentiments were perfect and I loved the kraft paper. Our son is currently deployed so I can relate to the heart sentiment. Thank you for sharing your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLove all three cards but the one that tore my heart is the third one because of the sentiment (and your personal note as well)!! Thank you for YOUR sacrifices!! Being without your loved one while they fight for my (our) freedom is a huge sacrifice!! THANK YOU!
ReplyDeletePam Your cards are really wonderful. Your words really touched my heart. We are preparing for our Grandson to deploy again. It breaks my heart. Thank you to you and your family
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful cards with great colors and wonderful sentiments. I just love the whole look of them.
ReplyDeleteWonderful designs. Love the hearts. TFS
ReplyDeleteI thank you and your family- deployments are so hard- I am so happy for you that it is almost over! I adore the red, kraft and blue! I love the layout of the 3rd card- but I cannot play favorites- they are all outstanding!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your personal story along with your cards, Pam! Does your husband send you OWH cards when he is deployed?
ReplyDeleteI love that paper. It looks like vintage ticking (or I think that's what it's called anyway). Those sentiments are awesome!
ReplyDeleteOne couldn't use better papers for our heroes. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, Pam! Thanks to your husband and to your whole family for your service!
ReplyDeleteI love the second one. It touches my heart more. Love the washi style ribbons too. And I love your story too. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the sacrifices you make!
ReplyDeletePretty paper choices!
All your layering really makes your cards special!
The banners that are embossed are really great - the embossing adds interest to them. The feature I like the best, though, is the blue striped paper that reminds me of the blue and white bed pillow covering from my childhood. Pillows aren't blue and white anymore, are they? This paper gives your cards a patriotic and vintage feel. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteLove your choice to use the Kraft. Your brads and buttons are great little touches!
ReplyDeletePam, your cards are wonderful. What such a great source of inspiration you share. Thanks to your husband for his service and your support. God bless!
ReplyDeletelove the rich look the papers you used give these cards! I was wondering how the "deployed" sentiment would work and you have shown it works great! thanks
ReplyDeleteI really like the warm country feel of all 3 cards. Thank you for your sacrifice as a Military family!
ReplyDeleteI adore all your cards and the kraft is just the right touch...love the red/blue papers too. Thank you for your family's sacrifice too...
ReplyDeleteLove your cards with the kraft paper. I love the kraft color in general and it goes nicely with the colors you chose. Thank you being a supportive military wife. I admire the spouses as much as I admire our Heroes. Sending you hugs!
ReplyDeletePam, your cards are awesome!! I love all the layers you use and they are in some of my favorite colors, red, blue and ivory/kraft!
ReplyDeletePam your cards, as usual, are beautiful! The paper collection you chose is one of my favorites because of it's warm vintage feel. The third card is my fave. I keep forgetting that Any Hero cards can be any size. Love the way you have 3 layers on your banner, and the tiny brads are perfect. Please thank you hubby for his service. And "Thank You" and your family for your service.
ReplyDeletePerfect, perfect and perfect. Love your paper mixes, layouts with the sentiments! WTG!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love the use of the kraft instead of the white. Great cards!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your husband's service! I love the last card's use of the brads and buttons... adds just enough eye candy to the card without being overpowering!
ReplyDeleteThese cards are wonderful!!!! I love the color combinations, the dimensions and overall makeup. These are wonderful and I plan to borrow some of your ideas. Thanks for sharing these beautiful cards.
ReplyDeleteaw wow those are awesome. I love how it looks like an old stained up piece sorta but yet still so new and great. that color of paper you chose is perfect. by far my fav I love them
ReplyDeleteLove your cards and the papers you used. Using the kraft paper was great. Thanks for sharing. Thank you to your husband and to you and your family for your service!!!
ReplyDeleteThose sentiments are truly special. I can only imagine how it would feel. Thank you for your service, too.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thanks to you and your family for the sacrifices you endure when Dad and Hubby are away. The families deserve medals and praise too. Thanks to your husband too. I'm glad Unity made some Spouse sentiments too. I like the combo of hearts and banners on all 3 cards. I like the kraft with the red and blue
ReplyDeleteI think the kraft on the first card was a good choice - it adds more warmth than white would have. You did a really nice job coordinating all the patterned papers on all three cards! Thank you and your family for the sacrifices y'all are making for our country.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work! Your cards touch my heart.
