Two days ago I cut a bunch of shimmery paper and set out to make some cards.. I had seen a card on SCS and I knew that I wanted to so something similar.. but after inking and embossing these three.. I gave up. I realized why I didn't do much heat embossing.. I dislike all the powdery stuff that gets everywhere.
My son had came in and sat down in the chair beside me and I noticed a container sitting under a work table that had distress paints in it.. so he got the one with the white ink and I grabbed my Hero Arts Delicate Blossoms stamp set and I made 58 "Mom" cards.
When I finished up the other cards.. I decided to finish these up too.. I added some white lines on two of them.. so brads and ribbon on one. I do like the way they turned out.. so I need to figure out a way to do some heat embossing without getting stuff everywhere.
Supplies used:
stamps: Stampin' UP! Fifth Avenue Floral, PaperTrey Ink Signature Greetings
ink: Versamark, Stazon Black
card stock: White, Black, Shimmery paper from the Paper Factory
accessories: 3/8" black satin ribbon, black mini brads, white embossing powder, heat gun, hole punch, white gel pen
thanks for looking ~
have a great airborne day!
God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them
I love the contrast of the white embossing but hate the mess too. I don't even know when I last heat embossed for that exact reason, similar to glitter in my mind. These are all beautiful and, as I said, I love the colors. Happy to see you coming back to this style of staming (the kind I can CASE) :)
ReplyDeleteHeat enbossing is one of my favorites. I have small plastic containers about 6" square (cheap dollar store type). I put my embossing powder in these and label the top with the color name. I keep a plastic spoon in each container and when I emboss I just hold my paper over the open container and dip the pwder up and onto my paper. Then I pour the excess back into the container. I keep all the containers in a drawer. Hope this helps. I never have any problems or mess using them. Your cards are all great. Love checking your blog. TFS
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder about the containers... I bought some right before we left El Paso, but I forgot about them until just now reading your comment. I do love the look of heat embossing. I am going to put some powder into those containers.. thanks again for the reminder. blessings ~ Pam
