Overflowing with love.. KnK Designs Fundraiser for OWH & Sketch Challenge

Hello friends! Today is another special day because it is Day 7 of a benefit for Operation Write Home!! For those of you who aren't familiar with Operation Write Home, they are a non-profit group that collects handmade cards (over a million, so far!!) to send to our soldiers deployed overseas.

Some of them are Any Hero cards that we write in to say "thanks for serving!", but most of the cards are left blank so the soldiers can send them back to their families and friends stateside. It's a fantastic organization!! But, in order to send the thousands of cards that will go out during the holidays, they could really use some extra funds for shipping, and that is where two digi designers would like to help.

Katlyn, of KnK Designs has teamed up with Deedee Anderson to offer 7 digi sets that are perfect for your OWH cards - or any cards, for that matter! All of the proceeds for these sets (minus the paypal fees, of course!) will be donated to OWH. Every bit of it! You can buy the sets separately or in a bundle - Go check out KnK Designs for all the details!!

Here is the Sketch Challenge Layout I used for this card... I totally flipped it over and made the one layer a bit larger to accomodate my image.

For this card I used:
card stock: Stampin' UP! Cherry Cobbler. GP White, Michaels Black, My Mind's Eye pattern paper
stamps: KnK Designs digi stamps
accessories: Martha Stewart border edge, Stampin' UP! Real Red Ribbon, and DIMENSIONALS!!!

note: My husband was sitting in the chair at my desk yesterday and we were chatting.. he picked up a border punch and started punching along a white piece of card stock.. I thought I'd use it on my card today.. thank you hubby.

thanks for looking ~

have a great airborne day!
God Bless All Our Military.. each and every one of them

  3. Pam, What a great job with this adorable image. Your coloring is terrific. Please tell your husband if he wants to punch some more paper and send it to me, I'll gratefully take it. LOL. Tell him I said it was the best part of the card. (again LOL)Thanks for sharing.

  4. Tell your husband thanks for the help, I usually don't like white cardstock, but it looks like lace especially against the red ribbon. TFS!!!

  5. Your coloring and layout are beautiful!

I love that your husband had a part in making this card, too. My dad's made a card or two for me when my mom's been crafting, and they are so special to me! It's great when the guys get involved in crafts!

  6. Such a sweet and cheery card, Pam! Love the darling papers you used, and the way you popped up the image. And of course, your hubby's punched border makes the perfect accent. Thank you so very much for sharing the news about this fundraiser -- we appreciate it VERY much! :-)
