OWH Sketch #66 Challenge "YOU MAKE MY HEART FLUTTER"
The card I just made it one of those cards that I made.. and after I did, I wished I had changed things... I think it's my paper choices.. and that River Rock panel, I wish I had embossed before putting it all together.. oh well.. it's done, not my favorite, but a card for a deployed military member to send to their loved one to let them know that they make their heart flutter.....
I used the Operation Write Home Stars & Stamps site sketch challenge #66 for this card:

.. six "LOVE YOU" cards in shades of green and brown
15 more dog photo cards.. assorted sentiments
22 cards completed using the Dog photos from book...
Thursday, April 21, 2011
.... some fun cards with photos from a book.
I picked up a book today at a thrift store for .25 cents. Each page is full photo in black and white of "dogs".. I immediately knew I wanted to use the pictures on cards. I colored in a little bit of each picture with a Copic marker and layered it with a coordinating color. I have a whole bunch more to make.. this is the first three that I've made tonight.

3 ~ "LOVE YOU" cards....
Here's a set of three quick cards I just made. I seen this layout on a card in the SCS gallery yesterday and had left a comment telling the card maker that I was going to be making some myself. I added eyelets (I have many and am SO happy to use some up) and the sentiment in an oval punch layered on a scallop oval and turned the to layer at an angle.

ahhhhhh.... Serene Spring layered card using OWH tutorial
I seen a tutorial on the OWH Stars & Stamps site and thought I'd give it a try. I seen this done a while back on Sherry Cheevers blog using printed images.. but since I never hooked up either of my photo printers since I moved here 2.5 years ago.. what a shame, two really nice HP Photosmart photo printers and I upload and get my photos printed at Walgreen's.
I used a sketch challenge layout from OWH.. it was a Bonus Sketch:
Anyways... I thought I'd try it.. and midways through the coloring I wondered what in the world I was thinking choosing to go this route.. ha ha.. I like the end product.. not sure if it's too thick to be mailed (for deployed military to mail).. but we'll see.. I'm sure it'll get tucked in an envelope and make it through just fine.
I used Stampin' UP! Serene Spring.. one of my all time favorite Stampin' UP! images. I messed up on my bird..but I still like it.
supplies: Bravo Burgundy, Basic Black, Gray paper that I got at a local printer, Watercolor Paper, Tombow Markers, Mounting Tape, Black Brads, Paper hole punch, embossing folder, Grand Calibur, Nestabilities, Water Brush, Daisy D's Maybe Baby Collection pattern paper, script stamp is from Stampin' UP! Botanicals stamp set.

I was asked about what stamps were used. These are from a Tim Holtz Purely Random set. I used Soft Suede, Night of Navy and white card stock. Blue and brown Distress ink.
