finished up this batch of cards.. & look at my box full of cards!!!
I made 11 more "thinking of you" cards.. I used butterflies instead of the owl.
I was packing the box of cards to send to Operation Write Home... I counted them and there are exactly 200 cards!!! wow... I am so proud of myself for being like a machine stamping away to make them all. I will mail them out to the East Coast shipper this week.
.. getting ready to make some "Thinking of You" cards
I am going to have to mix things up.. I don't have much of Cameo Coral card stock.. so I cut out what I did have and can make I think maybe 8 or 9 more cards. I cut out all the pattern paper for cards and have nearly 30 of them, so I'll find a pink card stock so that I can make more after this set. I haven't stamped the three pieces that go on the squares, because I might stamp some flowers or butterflies, etc.. mixing it up there as well.
OWH Sketch #58 "Thinking Of You" owl card
I seen this sketch this morning and made a card.. and did not like it at all. I Cleaned up my desk and started over again and made this one, which I do like.
Here is the sketch used for the challenge.. click on it to go to the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps site.
Now to cut out stuff to make a bunch.. while watching the NASCAR race.. Go Jimmie!

... another "TIGER" card done in rust/black only.
While I'm waiting for the kids to get ready.. I thought I'd make another Tiger card using rust and black.. I grabbed Stampin' UP! Cajun Craze and some black.
I made the card the same as the ones last night but just changed the colors.

.. getting ready to make 18 of the "TIGER" birthday cards
I have everything ready.. I have stamped 18 of the tiger faces, 18 Happy Birthday sentiments, cut out every layer, embossed 18 of the black layers... oops! I still need to score the card bases.. that will go quickly with my SP.
These were fun to make!

"TIGER" masculine Happy Birthday card
I thought I'd make some masculine birthday cards.. to mix it up a bit.. and seen this Tiger stamp sitting in one of the cubbies on my ink pad rack in front of me.. so I grabbed it and got busy making this card. I only made this one but plan on making more.
I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from a new Stampin' UP! Bring on the Cake stamp set that I got earlier this month.. finally got around to using it.
I used a CB folder to emboss the black layer.
Stampin' Up! card stock used: Kraft, Black and Confetti Cream.
embossing folder, brads and dimensionals were used as well.
Another plea for Stampin' UP! Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon
...... they're done! "Congratulations, Graduate" cards for OWH
I got this set of 11 done, so now I have an even dozen to donate to OWH . I hope to make more graduation themed cards. I had fun making these, but there's another stamp in the set that I want to use, so I'll have to use a different layout.

Getting ready to put together 11 more "Congratulations, Graduate!" cards
I have punched, cut, scored and am ready to put together 11 more of the graduation cards from the previous post. I will still need to stamp the sentiment and the cap on the top layer.. and that will go quickly.

"Congratulations Graduate" card SCS321 card
Earlier tonight I was looking on the Operation Write Home site about deadlines on when to send in certain themed cards and seen that Graduation cards are coming up soon, so I thought I'd make some. Also, on SCS the sketch challenge #321 is the sketch layout I used for this card. It went together rather quickly, thanks to some square punches.

... they are all done, all 18 of them!!! Damask Mother's Day cards
... getting ready to make 18 of the "Damask" Mother's Day cards
I have all the card stock cut (still need to score card bases), sentiments are stamped and punched, ribbon cut.. I just need to adhere the stickers to the white layer.. and I figured out a trick earlier when doing them so that they go on straight every time (description and photo below).
I use Stampin' UP! grid paper and I had a scrap piece of black card stock that is 4" wide. I lay it down on the grid paper so that I can see where the center is by the measurements on the grid paper, then I lay the white layer on it. I take the backing off a small part of the sticker and start it on the white layer about 1/8" from the edge (in this picture I was more like 1/4" and had to trim a small amount from the bottom) .. then smooth it down. Do this slowly and smooth the sticker out. If you are off by a little bit on one side, just trim it with a paper trimmer, it won't be noticed when you put the card together.
Elegant "Damask" Mother's Day cards.....
Last year I bought up every roll of these stickers that I could find at a local store. They come on big rolls and I have them in the colors of black, pink and white.
I put together two cards earlier today and really liked how they turned out, so I am going to make some more to send to Operation Write Home.

embossed Four Leaf Clover ~ "St. Patrick's Day" cards
I picked up this four leaf clover stamp today at a local craft store and thought I'd make some St. Patrick's Day cards using the embossed method on the whole layer after I glued the clovers on it.
I like how it turned out.. the yellow I used on the layer before I glued the clovers on, could've been a bit brighter, but it still looks good.
Give it a try.. make a card and post it on the OWH Stars and Stamps site, I did a tutorial there this week on embossing and am giving away a set of embossing folders.. you have to post your card there on THIS POST.
OWH Stars and Stamps: Tutorial - Embossed Flower Card
Check out a Tutorial I did on the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps site. It features the embossed flower cards.. I also did some with hearts and butterflies. Be sure to check it out, make a card, and post it there on the site, so that you are entered in the drawing for a free 2pk of embossing folders I am giving away.. the set includes the folder I used on the card featured in the tutorial.

... they are done! 17 "you're a hoot" Owl cards
I finished them... all 17 of them!!! yeah me!
These are SO cute. If you received the Stampin' UP! stamp set Punch Bunch free for SAB, you should pull it out and make some of these.. they are fun to make as well as being cute.
I am going to head to bed because I am worn out and the next two days are going to be like a rollercoaster ride.
Getting ready to make a bunch of Owl cards....
I have cut, stamped and punched (I noticed I forgot to punch the tops of the "You're a hoot" panels.. they are all done now) ~ all that I need to make at least 17 of these Owl cards. When I showed Steve the first one I did, he said that it should say "you're a hoot" and I happened to have a stamp with that very saying.. I don't think I'll get these done tonight.. unless I figure out a shortcut for the string and buttons.. but alas.. as I was typing I think I've figured a shortcut out, so I am off to put these babies together.

"You're The Best" punched owl card
Today a local craft store had a really nice percentage off coupon. I had went there to pick up some embossing folders to give away in an upcoming post (read about it tomorrow).. and since the folders were already on sale, I decided to pick up a book full of card ideas and use my coupon on it.
In the book was an adorable card with a big owl on it.. I had recently gotten the Stampin' UP! stamp set "Punch Bunch" free for SAB and already had the punch, but had never used it.. so I thought.. I'm going to make one of them cards!
The notebook paper stamp is from a set I bought at another local craft store.. I punched the top with a Stampin' UP! punch.. twine and a button (both Stampin' UP!) finish off this card.

OWH Sketch #57 "One touch of nature... " card
I used the layout from the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps site Sketch Challenge #57.
Earlier in the day I had been messing around and stamped the flower from the retired Stampin' UP! set Touch of Nature.. and had colored it in in a dark blue color.. so I thought I'd use Night of Navy. I looked at my colorwheel and it said Really Rust and More Mustard went with it well, so I grabbed them colors as well.
I stamped all the pieces, sponged the edges with Creamy Caramel and put the card together.
