Valentine's Day card for hubby and box I put his gift in
Last week after getting all the Valentine's Day cards made to send off to Iraq, I figured I better get my hubby's card made. We bought him a (CANNOT SAY WHAT IT IS WE GOT BECAUSE HE MIGHT SEE THIS HERE OR ON FACEBOOK!!!). I had a mailbox that I wanted to decorate to put it in, however it was about 1/4" too big .. so I had some clear paint cans.. nope, too big for it as well.. so I found some white boxes that I had bought at Michael's a long while back..
I cut some designer paper for the top and around the sides, run some ribbon around the lid and punched out some pieces from a matching designer paper and put them on the top.. I had to hurry because Steve had asked me about a movie and I had wanted to pack everything together in one package and needed to mail it that morning.
I had lots of goodies (candy!) that I had bought to send to him and so I packed the box full of the box, candy, the movie and some black ankle socks he had also asked about.. and in the mail it went. I took the picture of the card, right before I put it in an envelope and into the box.
Inside the box I punched out a whoe bunch of red hearts and scattered them over the top.. I had also cut a bunch of thin strips of white paper and crumbled them up for padding in the box. I hope he likes it.. it probably won't get there until late this week.

Another of the Valentine's Day cards.. they are on their way to Iraq
I stuffed that plastic container full of cards.. this card was another layout that I used and I made a bunch of these.. and there was one others, but I do not think that I took any pictures of it.. and the box of cards is on it's way to Iraq right now. I hope that the soldiers enjoy sending them to their families and friends.

Making "LOTS" of Valentine's Day cards for my hubby's unit
after cutting and deciding to make one card
I must be out of my mind!!! ha ha.. I have decided to make a hundred or so Valentine's Day cards.. first I said I'd make 100 to send to my husband's unit in Iraq, and then I have a friend who is in another area of Iraq and I'm sending her a card for a gift exchange.. and then another soldier that we have known for a very long time is in Afghanistan and I am going to send some to them too.. better get my behind in motion to get these things done.

this is the first card I made
I started this morning.. got things cut and then got derailed by the Heating & Air folks.. and with finishing some laundry.. then this afternoon got back on track and after dinner whipped some more together. All total today was 11 complete cards..
my 11 completed cards for today
inside and out! I am proud of myself, but I need more than that.. so as soon as the kids go to sleep, I am going to grab a punch and punch 90 of one circle and 90 of another and 90 scallop circles and 90 hearts.. I have all the card bases and layers cut out, I will need to probably emboss about 60 more of the dotted layers, oh.. and stamp the saying.. then it's assembly time.

~*LOVE YOU MUCH*~ card for my hubby
I whipped this up this morning so I could get it in the mail and off to Iraq to my hubby... whom, I love so very much.
The greeting stamp is from a new Stampin' UP! stamp set called Well Scripted.. I LOVE the font!! there is similiar set in the SAB catalog and I got that one too.
I bought the unmounted stamps.. at first I wondered if it would stick to the block, but I followed the directions and pressed as it said and it was great.. not a problem at all.. stamped wonderful as always.
I need to get this finished inside, so I can get it in the mailbox before the carrier gets here. Have a great Saturday .. tomorrow is a Video Teleconference with Steve.. the kids don't know about it yet.. it's going to be a surprise.. I'm going to tell them we are going to an FRG thing.. can't hardly wait for 9 am to get here.
