MFTWSC143 "Wishing You Happiness" card

I have missed doing the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenges..  I print them off each week, but never can seem to get myself to making something.. time gets away from me as usual.    This week however, I wanted to make something after making so many of the same cards (161 S.A.W. Welcome Home Cards) ..  I already had the adorable Pure Innocence image already colored, so it went together rather quickly.

here's my card:

Army Engineer "Thank You" cards

These are some Thank You cards I have made the last week or two.   I made one for some friends that are leaving soon..  it was at their Change of Command and I wanted to thank both C and N for their dedication and service to the soldiers and families in their company.

This card is a square card, I made it larger so I could write the note inside it and have enough room.

These next either cards are regular A2 size cards..  I made them to send to some supportors and VIP's that came to a golf tournament that was held last week to help raise some funds to help offset the cost our a mixer/ball that we are having after the Battalion returns from deployment.

What I've been up to.. working on 161 Welcome Home S.A.W. cards

Our Battalion will be home soon from a long deployment and I am making cards to go into baskets that go into the Barracks rooms for the single soldiers that live there. I am making 161 of these.

I had originally was going to just do a card front with a printed off thank you on the back.. but then decided to put them on white card bases with a black liner and the thank you attached to it.   This picture above shows 150 card fronts..  the number increased the day after cutting all these and I went back and cut 11 more.

Our Task Force is known as Task Force S.A.W.   ~ Sapper Athlete Warrior and the helmet is a symbol used for the Task Force.    I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut all of the helmets out.  Shown is how I did the stacks of 10 of each of the black layers and then I stacked 10 of each of the red helmets on top of them..  I went back and cut 11 more helmets after this.

Getting them put together.. my Scotch ATG dispenser makes it so much easier..  and will make them stay together for a long time.  Note:  in this picture is the revised sentiment I printed off to put inside the cards..  had added  Task Force S.A.W.  OEF XIII to the sentiment that is in the picture below.

This picture shows what I had typed up and printed out to put on the inside of the cards..  however after typing up and printing out one sheet.. I added Task Force S.A.W.  OEF XIII      see note with image above this one and you can see the pieces in the upper left corner of picture.

My AWESOME Fiskars Procision Paper Trimmer that I LOVE!!!   I have cut thousands of pieces of paper in it and they are just as nice as the first one.

This must've been when I had started the stacks of helmets..  I had opened a new mat for my Silhouette.. and boy was it sticky.. I kept laying it over the throw on the back of my couch to take some of the sticky away..  even my #100 card stock was tearing.. yike!    no work happens without a cold drink from Sonic.

This is my Silhouette Cameo..  the mat to the left has cut so many things..  yet it still works great.  I can honestly say that these mats are way better than any of the ones I used in my Cricut Expression.  I am so glad that I took the leap and bought this machine..  it is worth every penny.

Operation Write Home Birthday Bash 2013 with StampersBest BlogSkip

Hi and welcome to the Operation Write Home     Birthday Bash with StampersBest Blog Skip ~ Thanks for stopping by!

Today I have three cards using some of the awesome StampersBest OWH Fundraiser stamps.

Card #1:

My first card is one using Star Spangled Banner,  which by the way is one of my favorite songs.  I have it on my MP3/Phone by several different artists.. my favorite being Martina McBride... ahh, I love to hear her sing it.

I used a row of stars die from Lifestyle Crafts that comes with two sizes of stars.. on the blue layer I used the piece that was left after cutting out the stars and then used the red stars that were from the smaller size die.  My son said that this one was his favorite.

Card #2

This next card uses the True Soldier stamp... such an awesome saying. I am going to send this card to the spouse of a "true soldier" that recently lost his life.. forging forward.. as the saying says, not because he hated what was in front of him.. but because he loved what was behind him.   RIP SFC Young.

Trying to type this without breaking down and crying...  please know that our heroes so appreciate cards and letters from home, knowing that we support them wholeheartedly .. with everything we have.   God bless each and every one of those that put their life on the line each day.

Card #3:

This last card uses all but one of the stamps in one of my favorite StampersBest stamps that is called OWH My Hero.   I mounted all the stamps on a big block and stamped it onto a piece of card stock. I left the space for the stars (which were made using the LifeStyle Crafts star dies that I used on the first card).

Hello and welcome to the Operation Write Home Birthday Bash 2013 with Unity Stamps BlogSkip!

How awesome is that??

If you arrived here from Marlene's blog.. you are at the right place.. but if you'd like to start the skip from the beginning ..  be sure to click HERE to start at the top of the blogroll on the OWH Stars & Stamps blog.

The cards I have for you today use some Unity stamps that are perfect for Military Spouses to use on cards and notes to send to their deployed  spouses.

Let's get to the cards....

Card #1:

I really liked the way this card turned out..  I had originally planned on using white where all the Kraft is, but am glad that I went ahead with the Kraft instead.

This sentimen "Live Like He Deploys Tomororw"..  is one that has so much meaning.. the days before my husband left were so busy.. we were trying to do so much to fit in doing those last minute things and making sure we had things taken care of that needed to be taken care of.

The time goes by so quickly.. before you know it, the day arrived for him to depart.    We have been marking days and months off the calendar and our redeployment is approaching and we will be busy getting ready for his arrival.  This hasn't been an easy deployment, so we are so glad for it to be over with.

Card #2

"Half of my heart is DEPLOYED"..  yep.. ain't that the truth..  when your loved one is deployed, it's like a part of you is missing..  and when they return.. that part will fit nicely in place and you will feel whole again.

I used this week's OWH Sketch Challenge Layout for this card.

 Card #3

I really like this sentiment "LIVE EACH DAY" ..  it's perfect for long banners on a card such as this.

This is a card I am going to send  to my husband who will be coming home soon.

This card is a 5 1/4" square card.  I like to make larger size cards for my hubby to put in packages I send to him.. that way there's more room to write a note inside.

On the inside I am going to put a note with something like...  "and as if he will be coming home soon".

On a personal note..  I just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU!" to all the OWH'ers that make and send cards in for our deployed military members to send home to their families.  As a military spouse, I know how important it is to receive a card from your loved one when they are downrange.  Thank you again.

Thanks so much for stopping by..  the next stop on the skip is Julie..  go check out what fun cards she has to share with you.

Miss You like crazy

I bought some packs of paper at Tuesday Morning yesterday.   I also got a cute Miss You stamp at AC Moore and last night I wanted to get busy using them both.
I made three versions and this I like best. I am trying to make a bunch of these.
Today I cut enough stuff to make 32 cards. I am going to run out of the white grossgrain ribbon.. but hopefully my plan b works.    Off I go to get them put together.

Blessings~ Pam

All finished.. yeah!!!
