Volunteer Fire Department Donations

This morning I called the Salvation Army and the American Red Cross to inquire if they would like some donations of personal care products (shave gel, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoos, etc) both said that they would be more than happy to take any donations that we would bring them. We have LOTS so we are going to divide it up and donate some to each. I asked the lady at the American Red Cross if they would take some of the J&J Red Cross Gauze Pads, Rolled Gauze and Waterproof tape that I had.. she said that they didn't need any, but that to call a Volunteer Fire Department. So I called the one that is down the street from me, left a message and a short time later they called me back and was happy to take any donations, I did tell them I wanted to share it amongst another volunteer dept. that is down the other road, they gave me their number.. that department only needed rolled gauze, so they are coming tomorrow to pick it up. The first one I called came out about 20 minutes later and took 3 boxes loaded up with gauze, rolled gauze and the tape. I also fixed up a box for the two men that came of personal care and snack items. They were very nice and appreciative and I was so excited to finally find somewhere to give this stuff to that could use it, that I got all for FREE using coupons.

Dinner is in the oven.. Roasted Chicken and Vegetables.

This is a picture of it before going into the oven.. I have been roasting chickens in my Pampered Chef Covered Baker and getting it done in 30 minutes.. but today I wanted to bake it in the oven atop some veggies.

Fun little basket box made using Sizzix Envelope Die

I didn't buy the SU scallop envelope die, and seen one in a local store recently.. it wasn't the scallop edge one, but rather a straight one. I had a 40 or 50% off coupon, so I snatched it up. Today I cut out for of the things, and used the SU scallop border punch to punch out a scallop border on it. I glued all four together, added a layer of polka dot paper that is from the Cutie Pie DSP. I put dimensionals under each flap and tied some wide grossgrain Certainly Celery ribbon around the top. It wasn't hard at all to make and I think that I'll make more.. and fancy them up with a handle, flowers, etc..

Look what $5.85 can buy at Rite Aid

This afternoon after dropping off some packages at the pack&ship place.. I headed over to CVS because I had read online that they had the Dove Revitalizer for only $4.00 and I have two $3.75 off 1 coupons.. of course they didn't have it and I got the story that they are a small/old store and that they probably just haven't gotten it yet.

I didn't have time to go to another CVS store, so I went across the street to Rite Aid to see if they had their Mento's gum on sale again ~ and it was for $1.00 ~ Yippee!! I still have lots of the $1.00 off coupons. I grabbed what they had and asked the lady if she had more in the back.. she was the lady who helped me out last time they were on sale. She was the only one there and couldn't go to the back right then. I told her I would head home, pick up my son when he got home from school and come back. I wandered to the rear of the store because last time I was in there they had Pringle's for $1.00 a can on clearance.. today they were down to .50 cents and I knew I had some $1.00/2 coupons.. free!

We left the store and came home.. Jackson got home and back to RiteAid we went.

This is what we got:

30 cans of Pringles (picture shows 28, I already gave away 2 cans)
63 Mento's Gum ~ assorted flavors
2 boxes of Goldfish crackers (these are reg nearly $4.00 on clearance for $1.64)
1 Charms blowpop ~ Jackson already ate it so it didn't make it into the picture.

I was upset with myself because I had left at home a $5.00 off $25 Rite Aid purchase.. I am going out tomorrow to go to the other stores and have printed a few extras.. I'll use them and see what goodies I can come home with for next to nothing.

My total today was $5.85 ~ $1.67 of that was tax.

We went to the commissary after this trip and saved $150.66 in coupons ~ I didn't take a picture of that.. in fact most is in the back of the Armada still.

At the commissary we got 43 Gillette Series Gel for .01 cents each ($1.01 less $1.00 coupon) 30 2 pack of Olay bar soap for .26 cents each ($2.26 less $2.00 coupon on each) Purex Laundry Detergent B1G1F ~ $2.50 each.. we paid $5.00 for $10 of detergent ~ steal of a deal on pancake syrup.. the kind in the bottle you microwave to heat up.. the Sugar Free was only $1.99 and we had $1.00 off coupons ~ .99 cents each, I got in the mail today a book with coupons in it and one was for a Free Cascade rinse agent so we got one of them, 2 Boxes of Claritin 10 pack Reditabs on clearance for $3.99 and we had $2.00 of coupons.. $1.99 each box, and some Frosted Mini Wheat cereals on sale for $2.00 a box and we had $1.00 off coupons.. $1.00 a box, we got Pop Tarts for .95 cents a box.. they were $1.50 and we had .55 coupons, we got 6 packs of Snicker's, 3 Musketeer's and Twix candy bars for only .75 cents each pack!!! Kashi Go Lean waffles were $2.18 and I had 2 $1.50 off each box.. .68 for a box of waffles. 23 things of Meto's Gum.. $1.05 each and we had $1.00 off each one.

We got some other stuff such as meats, shampoo.. but our total was only $63.27, $10.19 of that was surcharge and the coupon total was $150.66 which was a savings of 73% ~ not as high as the 92% I had last week.. but the amount I think was higher, or $4.00 less.. either way, that's a whole lot of stuff for FREE!!!

Same Card ~ Different Camera ~ Gold Embossed Friend Card

My husband came home tonight with an awesome camera that he is taking with him to Missouri. He is going to the Best Sapper Competition and is following a group that is competing. He is going to take pictures and take notes.. then write an article in the paper when he returns. This camera is a Nikon camera.. he said that it was like 2 grand.. wow! We messed around with it to find some auto settings for him to use. I was messing around with it and a card I made a couple of nights ago was laying on the table, so I thought I'd take a picture of it. I have a good camera and need to "learn how to use it" so I can take "good" pictures with it.

Gold Embossed/Colored "Fabulous Friend" Card

Well I finally did it.. I finally cut something with my Stampin' UP! Top Note Bigz Die!!! Yeah!!!

I have had that thing for over a month.. and it was still in the plastic wrapper ~ I know... shame on me!

The stamp set I used on the flowers that are on the top note shape is a retired Stampin' UP! set ~ Toile Blossoms. The oval is from All Ovals from the Occasions Mini, along with the scallop oval punch.. love it!

Everything was stamped in versamark.. on the oval and the top note, the stamped images were embossed with gold embossing powder and heat-set. I used some Stampin' UP! markers and a paint brush with water to color in the images.

These are a couple of cards that I made yesterday.. the top card uses a Stampin' UP! Thoughts & Prayers stamp set and the bottom one is a Tim Holtz stamp set that I picked up a while back at Micheal's.

Several days ago I straightened up my pantry that is inside the house.. I store more foods outside in the garage on shelves such as canned goods.. After I finished cleaning the pantry, I took a picture of it.. I was proud of myself getting it all where I could see it.

Last trip to Harris Teeter (last night) and Commissary trip (today)

Yesterday was the last day for triple coupons at Harris Teeter.. I had to make another trip.. couldn't resist. I am glad that I did.

I walked in the door and found a basket of some awesome deals on some items. A-1 Steak sauce discounted to $2.39 ~ used a $2.00 off coupon. Veet discounted to $2.99 ~ used a $2.00 off coupon.

I had found another .75 cent off coupon on Viva paper towels, so the roll was free.. I got 2 packs of the No Yolk noodles that ended up being .14 cents each and then a slew of the Vanity Fair beverage napkins.. all free after tripled coupons (I already gave away several of the ones I got last night) My total was $2.67

This morning I went to meet the paper lady, same old flyers from the last paper, so I didn't get any.. got a phone call from the person that hands out P&G coupons, so I went to the commissary.. in the flyers are $1.00 off Gillette Shaving Gel.. the gels are only $1.01 and so I got 30 bottles.. I stopped by the recycle center on my way home and gave the guy there 4 of them.
