IA108 ~*SEASON OF JOY*~ Christmas Card with large bow!!

I know that this bow looks a bit big for the card.. but isn't it so gorgeous.. the rich chocolate color of the Stampin' UP! ribbon is just yummy! I got a Mini Bowdabra a week or so ago using a 50% off coupon and tonight thought I'd use it. I have a big Bowdabra around here somewhere that I bought when it was first released and have always liked it because it is so easy to use.. this one is no exception! Great idea Bowdabra.

I was blog surfing earlier today finding some sketch challenges and found one on a blog that I need to go find out whose it is.. I know that the challenge is called Inspiration in Action Weekend Sketch Challenge 108. *found it: IA108 CHALLENGE

This is my card using Stampin' UP! Season of Joy stamp set. Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Old Olive, Whisper White and some retired DSP paper.

I used Memento Brown ink, Old Olive and So Saffron inks, silver brads, dimensionals, glue dots, Chocolate Chip SU Ribbon, SU Scallop Border punch, SU Oval Punches.

I think that's it.. hope you like it.

SC252 ~*U.S. ARMY SOLDIER ~ HOOAH!*~ card

I used the sketch challenge 252 on SCS for this layout on this card.. I had to change it a little bit because the pattern paper I had with the U.S. Army on it was only a small strip ~ I used the main image from a retired Stampin' UP! set Courage & Honor and the Hooah is from an Art Declassified Army set.

have a blessed day.

~*PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN*~ WSC104

For this card I used a layout that is for the WSC104 on Beate John's blog.

I used a retired stamp set from Stampin' UP! that is titled: Liberty For All

On this project is the first time I have attempted to sew on a card. I bought a Janome
Sew Petite from someone either on SCS or Craigslist sometime early last year, before
I moved from Missouri and it has been in the box all this time.. yikes!

It wasn't as hard as I thought.. but I think that maybe next time I'll get out my big
machine because it has a light on it and I think it would be a bit easier for me to see
where the needle is going and such.. but for my first time I don't think I did too bad.

The saying on the front of this card is a true statement for myself:

"Proud to be an American" now if only we can get some elected officials to feel the same way about our country.. I think then we would be on the right road instead of the one we are one currently.. hopefully a detour is coming soon.

In my endeavors I wish that I could do more to help those in need. If you have extra food or clothing you do not need.. find a local shelter and make a donation, or volunteer.

Have a blessed day.

~*WELCOME BABY*~ duck card

I made this card to someone who had a baby recently. I am a tad bit late in sending this, since the kiddo is about a month old now.. life kinda got in the way and I kept forgetting to make a "baby" card. Now just to finish the inside and I can pop it in the mail.

I used Stampin' UP! so saffron card stock for the base, certainly celery for the layer on top of it and I think that the blue is Soft Sky. The other paper is some American Crafts double sided pattern paper that I got earlier this year, me and my mom split a bunch of packs of it from Tuesday Morning. I ran the one piece through the bigkick with a cuttlebug folder, it is .. let's just say.. "it's thin!" but looks pretty neat I guess. The duck stamp is from a retired stamp set from a mini catalog maybe one or two back.. and the saying is from Short & Sweet. So Saffron brads and ribbon.. I used SU markers to color it in and there is dimensionals on the duck layer.. love dimensionals!!

~*HAPPY ANNIVERSARY*~ another butterfly card!

I decided to make another card using the MS monarch butterfly punch. This card started out using a layout in a sketch challenge, however the layers beneath the butterflies wouldn't fit right, so I changed it around.. I was going to have three going up and down.. but then they were too close for my liking, so I moved them around.. and put some eyelets in the open areas.

~*Hi!*~ Butterfly ... er, that's butterflies card!

Aren't these butterflies so neat.. they are punched out using a new Martha Stewart monarch butterfly punch.. I used a 50% ACMoore coupon at Michael's to get it over the weekend. I punched a bunch of butterflies out all in pink, since it was the piece of cardstock closest to my hand! ha ha...

I tossed this together on a whim.. I used some certainly celery cardstock for the base, then a white layer, and a patterned paper that is from basic grey.

I cut out a scallop circle using the sizzix bigz die, then layered a nestabilities circle on top of it, kept the die on it and sponged some certainly celery onto it and then stamped the background stamp all over it in so saffron, I wish I hadn't paper pierced the circle in the corner, but I did, so it's there for now.

I used the stickers that came in the basic grey pack and then some SU brads... that's it!

WSC102 ~*Embossed Butterflies*~ long card

I used the layout of Beate's WSC102 sketch challenge for this card ~ it's a long card and I turned it sideways.

I stamped the Hero Arts Heart Butterfly three times in versamark, then inked it again in versamark then in Ruby Red and stamped it on a seperate piece.. I then embossed them all with clear embossing powder.

Where the three butterflies were stamped/embossed, I sponged on ink in three colors that were the card stock colors: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Ruby Red.

The heart butterfly was cut out, then inked all over with versamark and I took some SU Irridescent Ice Embossing Powder all over it and heat set it.

I cut out the circle piece using a nestabilities circle die and then a nestabilities scallop circle in CC. I used a piece of polk dotted paper from some retired SU Cutie Pie paper.

The sentiment is from SU Flight of the Butterfies (or butterfly, can't remember!) stamp set.

I embossed the stripe in the center using a Cuttlebug folder, at first I made it too wide for my liking so I trimmed some off.. I used a portion of that on the SS piece, then used some wide grossgrain CC ribbon and some SS grossgrain ribbon.

The scallop border was made using a SU scallop border punch.

Two things I used on this card that I hadn't in a good long while.. some eyelets and my cropadile... but as always this card has Dimensionals on it.. love em'!

have a great weekend!

~*AIRBORNE JUMP SCHOOL CONGRATULATIONS CARD*~

I made this card for my hubby to give to one of his fellow soldiers that had just completed Basic Airborne School. I embossed everything on the front of the card. The saying inside we printed off the computer.

A Leg is someone who has never been to jump school... and a cherry is a new graduate that has less than 10 jumps. Hooah!

~*BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH*~ Pink Cards

I made these two cards earlier today.. I was thinking last night about whether I had bought the ribbon diecut from provo craft a while back.. and this morning I checked, and I had.

I grabbed some Regal Rose and Pink Piourette (sp?) never could figure out how to spell that word.. anyways, it was one of the In Colors. I used a piece of Bella Rose DSP on each card as well.

On one of the cards the ribbon behind the saying is stamped off once and on the other it's stamped off twice before stamping.

~*WHERE LIBERTY DWELLS... *~ Patriotic Card

I don't want to go into politics or anything resembling such.. so I will only say that I am very saddened by the direction our country is going..
On that note. I thought I would make a patriotic card tonight.I used up some Blue Bayou card stock that I had left.. along with some kraft, real red and white. I used Versamark ink, Sahara Sand ink and Soft Sky (don't have Blue Bayou anymore). Wide Grossgrain Real Red Ribbon and some Real Red brads... oh, and the Stylized Silver HPH piece.
"Where liberty dwells.. there is my country."

WSC100 ~*HOLIDAY WISHES*~ Christmas Cardinal card

I so wanted to get up yesterday and make some cards for World Card Making DAy.. my arm/shoulder wasn't having any part of that.. so most of the day I relaxed and tried to keep the pain at bay.

Late last night.. since it's 1 am I guess I have to call it last night.. haha.. I felt better and decided to come up and make something using Beate's WSC100 layout

I pulled out one of my all time favorite Stampin' UP! stamp sets. It's retired now.

I stamped the main image in Memento brown ink, colored with Copic markers. Stamped off the poinsettia in Always Artichoke twice, then stamped onto some white card stock and then stamped the saying on top of it in the same brown ink I stamped the cardinal image in. I punched it out using a 1 3/8" circle punch, then a 1 1/2" circle punch, then the scallop circle that was then put back in the punch to punch again to make the scallops pointed (I used a thin strip of cardstock glued to the back of the scallop circle to be able to control where it was in the punch so I could line it up and then punch) ~ I used some Red Riding Hood Taffeta ribbon (ret).

The card stock used is Always Artichoke, Soft Sky (ret) and Wintergreen DSP (ret)

The card is a 4 1/2" square card.
