A card for the husband of a good friend.. Touch of Nature

This card is being sent to the husband of a very good stamping friend of mine. He has been very sick. They live back in Missouri and I wish I was there to be to give her a big hug and him too.. they are the nicest people you would want to meet and it saddens me to hear about his not feeling well at all. Please remember them in your prayers to bring them strength when it is needed the most.

The card uses a stamp set that I dearly love and am really sad to see it on the retirement list.. I sure do hope that Stampin' UP! has something as wonderful in it's place. Touch of Nature ~ colors are River Rock and Purely Pomegrante.. along with Very Vanilla.

Some cards from a couple of days ago...

I made these handful of cards a couple of days ago.. yesterday was my oldest daughter's birthday ~ and today me and my mom worked on putting cardstock on the inside and putting the cards into envelopes.. that a fellow SCS'er had sent to me to send to my brothers units. They are on their way to Iraq now. Thank you Debi (scs/debils).. thank you so much!!! She sent an entire flat rate box of cards to me.. I punched the corners inside with the stepping stone punch (I think that's what it's called ~ it is a retired punch) and put carstock on the inside of the ones that didn't have any.. my mom packed each one partially into an envelope and a big flat rate box went out in the mail this morning. My only regret, is I didn't take any pictures.. the cards are so wonderful and I know that the guys will enjoy using them to send home to friends and family. When I headed to the Post Office, my mom was on the phone with my brother John who is in Iraq. He told me the other day that the selection of cards there is in the PX stinks.. so they would be very glad to receive the cards.

These are the cards I made the other day.. using River Rock and Purely Pomegrante.. the Star Flag card is one that I used up all the star punchouts from all the cards I made for troops last week.

My messy spot... and more cards!!!

What a day.. me, my mom, two daughters and niece went to some yard sales this morning.. we hit pay dirt for the girls finding all sorts of Bratz toys and a Build a Bear Monkey to go along with the other BAB Monkey that my one daughter already has. We found some brand new infant outfits for .25 cents that fit the bears/monkeys and dogs... all Build a Bear ones.. just fine. The girls have had so much fun playing with it all today.

We went to an ACS (Army Community Services) event out on Ft. Campbell.. it was so HOT! we did all the events, and then a concert was starting, but we didn't bring anything to sit on, so we left.

We got home in time for the girls to watch the Hannah Montana concert on Disney Channel.. they are actually on the second round of watching it.. singing, dancing and acting nuts.. along with microphones and red lipstick.. it's a hoot to watch and listen to.

I have been stamping the cards I have posted for the last few days and am stamping out of a couple of tubs that I brought with me.. these are not deep tubs, but ones that are less than 1 foot deep.. I didn't bring much, but enough. Plus I got the preview order with all the new in colors too... anyways.. I wanted to show my messy
spot.. I have so many dimensional papers all over the table and the floor... but I love it.. ... here's my mess:

messy stamping area stampin up airbornewife

I took the pieces of print packs that I had left, from what I had cut.. and found a few more still in the pack, and cut them up to fit on more pieces to put on more cards and that is what I have been working on this afternoon/evening.. here are some that are completed:

Figured out a way to get more cards for Troops using Print Pack

This morning I sat down to the pile of scraps from the Print Pack Real Red pieces I used yesterday for the 8 American Eagle cards I made for troops... I haven't used up all the pieces of RR that I have, but know that I only have so many.. so I took the pieces that are left and cut them down to fit on a layer and came up with this card.. so now I can use them and make some more.. the girls want to go to yard sales this morning.. they wanted to get up at 6:30, but we got up at 7:30 and are finally getting to head out the door.. have a great day!

More cards for troops ~ Patriotic Eagle Cards ~ 8 made today

Oh how I love making cards for deployed troops.. when I find a card that I like to make, I stick to it. however I only have one other Print Pack, so I am only going to be able to make as many cards as I have pieces of Real Red paper from the print packs. then I'll figure out something else to use. I got all 8 of these with the tags on them finished just a few minutes ago.. I am going to quit for tonight and then try to make some more tomorrow.

American Eagle Red, White & Blue Patriotic Card for Troops

american eagle red white and blue airbornewife patriotic usa god bless america
I made this card after making the other Patriotic card earlier today.. and as I was stamping and punching out all the pieces to make a bunch.. I thought about making a tag to put on the card with the ribbon.. so this is what I ended up with. I really like it... course it's hard for me to not like anything Red, White & Blue!!!!

Yeah!!! Some cards ~ Pink Skunk, Patriotic, Birthday and SMOKIN' HOT!!!

Eureka.. I made some cards!!! I have a big mess on the table in the dining room and on the floor.. dimensional papers all over the place!! they are my favorite thing in the whole catalog.. I wouldn't know what to do if Stampin' UP! retired those babies.. I came to TN with 20 packs of them things so that I wouldn't run out ~ course I won't use that many, but I could .. I really could!

This Pink Piourette and Close to Cocoa card went to gether rather quickly, because when I made the other card, I stamped two images and colored it then as well.. so all I had to do was build a card around it..

pink skunk independence day swirls pun fun stamping stampin up airbornewife

The next card I made, didn't involve any stamping.. just the use of some Thickers Stickers and a flower/sun sticker from Basic Grey.. my husband is always going around saying "smokin' hot!" mostly calling me that.. I just giggle and smile. I wanted to make him a long card with the letters all stamped out in red spelling out Smokin' Hot using Well Worn Alphabet, but mine is in storage, so I used the thickers, he'll get a kick out of it.

basic grey bella rose designer paper thickers stickers stamping stampin up airbornewife

I then set out to make a card for my oldest daughter Heather. Her 21st Birthday is this coming up Monday. She is a sweetie.. she has Cerebral Palsy and has been telling me the last day or two that she doesn't want to go to Ci Ci's or Cracker Barrel for her birthday, which I know she loves going to both.. so today I sat her down and asked her where she really wanted to go.. and I guess it's Ci Ci's. We are going to invite some of the lifeguards at the pool where the kids go nearly all the time, and many who they have known for years. I think that she'll really enjoy that if some of them come. This card has the colors of Red Riding Hood and Pink Pirouette Bella Rose DSP and some of the Old Olive Twill Ribbon.. I used the scallop punch, a 1 1/4" and a 1 1/2" circle punch, Fundamental Phrases set which was a SAB rewards set.. yeah.. loving it more and more as I use it and I cut out the butterflies from Dreams de Jour. Here's the card ~ hope she likes it.

birthday fundamental phrases butterflies bella rose designer paper stamping stampin up airbornewife

My last card is Red, White and Bue... ah.. well Real Red, Blue Bayou and Very Vanilla is what I really used.. I love anything red, white and blue so this card is my favorite of the day. I used Land that I Love eagle stamped in Blue Bayou, the striped paper is from the Print Pack, a Level 1 hostess item in the current catalog.. some striped Red/White Grossgrain Ribbon tied in a knot.. and some double punched stars.

Thanks for strolling along with me while I showed the cards that I was able to get to stamping ~ the guys are all at Piney Campground this weekend fishing and having fun.. and the girls are all here.. we are stamping, the girls are singing and playing dolls.. and we are enjoying our Sonic cold soft drinks.. couldn't be better.

Love Pink & Close to Cocoa Card

Lately, I have had a fascination with the color combo of pink and brown.. This afternoon when I sat down to make a card.. I decided I'd put the two together.. the pink is the new In Color Piourette Pink and Close to Cocoa.. I wish I had brought Chocoloate Chip with me, but didn't. The ribbon is Regal Rose.. I colored the image from Pun Fun using an aquapainter and ink from the ink pads.. Scallop Border Punch... polka dotted paper from the new Bella Rose DSP.. the LOVE stickers are Thickers stickers.. I bought a pack recently at a Hobby Lobby and wanted to give them a try, so on the card they went.

I hope you like it.. thanks for looking and reading ~ Pam

I read yesterday on the home page of SCS about a non-raffle fundraiser for Flood Relief. I immediately wanted to donate something for them to giveaway to those that were donating to such a great cause. I contacted Jenn B. and she said "yes!" so I emailed a picture of what I would like to donate to the cause.

Off to spend the weekend in Nashville ~

Me and my hubby Steve are getting ready to head to Nashville to spend the weekend doing some fun stuff.. today we are going to Nashville Shores which is a waterpark.. we were going to go to the race tonight, but they are calling for rain, so we decided against that.. if the race is on, we can watch it at the hotel.. tomorrow we are going to spend the day at Opry Mills walking around and browsing the shops.. it's been years since we went there.. I am looking forward to going to the book store and somewhere on Opry Mills Dr. is supposed to be a Scrapbook Warehouse, not sure if it's still there or not. but we are going to look for it. Bass Pro Shops is on the list too.. what would a trip be if there is a Bass Pro Shops within eye shot and you don't go in!

Happy Weekend everybody!

Some cards with new SU supplies

I finally opened up some other colors.. Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point ~ I used some of the Bella Rose DSP also.. I think I am going to "maybe" lay off the scallop punch for a while.. just kidding! it's so much fun.. really it is!!

Here are two cards that I made tonight using some new SU goodies:

My hubby will be here either tomorrow night, or he might stop sometime tomorrow afternoon and then get here Friday morning.. I searched and searched online for things to do in a 100 miles radius.. what I REALLY wanted to do was to go to St. Louis (I know I just came from Missouri) but I wanted to go back and go to another Cardinal's game.. but they will be on the road this weekend.. so I scrapped that.. searched for the Grand Old Opry, Waterparks in Nashville, Bowling Green and Eddyville, KY.. and then remembered that there is a speedway in Nashville and on Saturday night there is an Indy Race.. so we are going to go to that.. when Steve called earlier.. I mentioned about the speedway.. and he immediately was like "yeah honey, let's do that!" guess it was a good thought.

2 more cards with new SU goodies!!

stampin up rubber stamping airbornewife stampin up rubber stamping airbornewife

I put together these two cards this morning.. and then straightened up my two tubs of stuff I brought with me and found I had brought my Watercolor Crayons with me! I didn't realize I had, but when I seen them I was excited.. so I can try my hand at watercoloring the images next time.. rather then using the pure color pencils I have. The cards are nothing fancy.. the first one was done (the bunny) and then used up some scraps to make the second one.. Today my kiddos are getting haircuts.. there is a lady here in Clarksville that I have known since the late 80's when I worked at WalMart, she worked at Fantastic Sam's.. I would go every couple of months and get a perm and then a cut.. and it was always the best.. I have never found a stylist that I liked so much.. so when we come into town, I like to go and get our hair cut by her and today is the day. I have long straight hair and want some bangs so badly.. so we'll see.

My hubby will be home tomorrow and wants me and him to go spend the weekend in Nashville.. just me and him!!! I can hardly wait.. I haven't seen him since June 26th when I left right after we had breakfast after our housing clearing appointment. He has been visiting his grandmother, aunts and uncles in the U.P. of Michigan. I need to find something fun for us to do in Nashville and make some reservations for a place to stay.. we don't get much time to ourselves, so I will be so glad just to spend time just me and my best friend. So if you live in or around Nashville and know of something fun to do there, let me know.. please.

2 cards with new SU goodies ~~~ Yeah!!

STAMPIN UP RUBBER STAMPS AIROBORNE WIFE BIRD FLOWERS COLOR PENCILS STAMPING

The girls are playing barbies and video games and the boys are playing Club Penguin on the computer so I thought I would cut into some new paper.. the Bella Rose DSP is so pretty.. and such an array of designs in this pack. I am trying to learn the new colors.. so bear with me.. I used the Pink and the Red, which I think is Red Riding Hood and the pink is Piorette (spelling surely messed up there) Pink.. my ink pads are out in the other room. Anyways.. I put this card toghether.. I used my pure color pencils which I got for free from SU a couple of weeks ago.. I need to figure out how to use them.. or the extent of how to use them.. they feel so nice to color with. I wish I had my stumps and gamsol with me.. they were in a box of adhesives/blues/reinkers that the mover guy said they couldn't take.. he told me I could have a box to put them in, I packed them all up and sat it in the hallway so I could add more to it.. the next morning he took the box and finished packing it.. so needless to say, my reinkers, gamsol, adhesives, all my liquid stuff is in a box marked who knows what. I would love to use the gamsol and stumps with these pencils like my prismacolor pencils.. we are off to get the kids signed up for a scrapbook craft class tomorrow..

Okay.. well we are still here.. got a little delayed, so while others were doing things to get ready.. as always I like to make a card using stuff I have laying around from a card I just made.. so I jumped on this one.. The is the Dreams du jour stamp set used on this card.

okay.. I am rustling up all the kids and we are heading out the door now!

later~

have a happy stampy day!

Happy Birthday AMERICA!!! and a paper pieced card

Happy Birthday to America!!! what a great day to celebrate our country and how special it is.

Last night while it was hot and muggy.. no AC.. I stamped several cards... I think that I liked coming back into this room because the fan in the window made it feel, not so bad. This is the last card that I made and even though it was a pain cutting out the bird.. it still turned out to be a card that I really liked. I used some paper from the Print Pack. Close to Cocoa and Regal Rose, along with Very Vanilla.. the ribbon is the Chocolate Chip Twill Ribbon that was in the Occasions Mini catalog that just went out last month.. if you got some.. you know how wonderful it is.

2 Cards for Sketch Challenge on SCS SC183

stampin up touch of nature rubber stamps airbornewife free & the brave stampin up rubber stamps airbornewife

Today my parents air conditioner decicded to go kapoot! no fun when it's hot! so what do you do?? YOU STAMP!!! Me, my mom and my youngest son was stamping tonight. I did these two cards for the SCS Sketch Challenge. Two very different cards. I first made the one with Touch of Nature.. which is so sad that it is retiring.. I do hope that SU is replacing it with something even more special... and then the soldier card.. I hope that SU has another military or patriotic set in the catalog ~ but I won't be holding my breathe on that one.

True Friend {Thank U} Card

stampin up rubber stamping airbornewife
Last night I wanted to make some cards, but only made this one. The "Thank U" stamped image looks a bit pinkish.. and I realized after stamping it that I hadn't cleaned it the last time I used it... shame on me, I usually always clean my stamps, but I guess I didn't this time. This is a super quick and easy card. I am thinking about going to a small scrapbook store here in Clarksville and pick up some paper that looks like ACU's ~ I want to try a paper piecing on a military stamp.

I forgot to mention that last week me and my mom was in a scrapbook store on the other side of town and I noticed that they had Papertrey Inc. stamps and that there was lots of card samples there as well.. and the lady said that Nichole Heady lives like 5 mins from the store.. I had to email a friend in MO (Hi Carole!) to let her know.. I know she has some Papertrey stamps and really likes them. I don't have any acrylic stamps except the Army set from CTMH and when I use it I have to put paper shims under the stamps to get a good image... so I am not a big fan of acrylic stamps. I know that I should give them a try.. but am very happy with my Stampin' UP! stamps and spend a small fortune on them... and my preorder will be here on Monday! if only UPS was delivering tomorrow, I would have it then... patience I keep telling myself.

Since I didn't clear away all my "stuff" from last night of stamping, I got up this morning and decided to make another card.. this cute hippo was screaming my name from the plastic box in which is is stored in.. so I thought I would add it to the card. I am not too happy with the ribbon, but after I put it on, I decided to keep it.. instead of changing it out for strips of cardstock.

My 10 year old son is making cards for his uncles which are in Iraq and Afghanistan, I'll try and get some pictures of the cards and load them later.

Finally got some stamping in~~ yeah!!!

Seems like the week just flew by.. it did. I am enjoying the days in Tennessee with my kids at my parents house. My husband had his final signing out of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri this morning and then got on the interstate bound for the U.P. of Michigan to visit with his grandmother. He just called me a few minutes ago at 10:30 pm CST and said that he was just then crossing the bridge into Menominee (hope I spelled it right) and said he had an urging to go fishing. He has been driving for about 12 hours, so I told him he should get some sleep and fish tomorrow.
As my mom was mounting some new stamp sets tonight, I decided to do some stamping.. I haven't really felt like stamping, only because all my stamp stuff that I brought with me is in two tubs, and I hate pulling everything out.. for a creature of habit it's a big thing to have to do this. I stamped the Lighthouse card the day after I got here and the other three one after the other tonight.. that's why the cardstock colors are mostly all the same.. I was on a small roll!!

We are heading to the pool again tomorrow.. the water was so cold yesterday that we decided to not go today so that the sun could warm it up some.
